The Movie Transformers

I thought the movies was fine. My son is 5 and he is extremely into transformers. His whole room is done with the theme and all. I mean as long your honest with your son about it being "just a movie" and ya know there are camera men behind them and all I don't see the problem. There is no sex in it and the only true violence is between the transformers. I love that he loves them though because those toys are very mind engaging!! They are all like rubiks cubes in a way. I'm amazed at how quickly he can do some of them. I guess just watch it yourself and go from that. There is a new transformers cartoon on now also....its on cartoon network at 9:30 am on Saturdays.

Not at all appropriate for a 3.5 year old. My son is also 3.5 and likes Transformers, but no way would I let him watch that movie...my husband saw it and confirmed what I already thought about.

There is an animated Transformers video that came out in the 80's that is a little better, but I stopped letting him watch that too because it is a little too violent and he started acting out stuff in it ;-(

I just discussed this with a friend because I let my 10 year old and his friend watch it along with my 6 and 5 year old. I thought it was a children's movie and it really isn't. There is a scene where they talk about masturbation and obviously your child won't oick up on that, but it could be scary for a child your age. The machines are gigantic and thier voices are deep which could be perceived as very scary to a little one. It is rated PG-13. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone under that age to be honest.

I own the movie and have watched it with my almost 3 year old. While the movie has its times of violence, it is not bloody and involves the robots much more than the people. My son will act out the movie with his cars. My advice would be to rent it and watch it yourself before you make the final decision.

He may not be old enough for it. You may want to watch it first. Surprisingly my oldest daughter and myself enjoyed the movie. We usually feel like were being tortured by my husband and son when we have to watch their movies. It may be a bit scary for him because it's real,(by real I mean not animated). They do have cartoon versions of Transformers. Even they are a bit violent, but probably better for a little one in cartoon version. I'm probably a "bad" mom because my son has always watched these types of movies; spiderman, x-men, fantastic 4, etc... We have always watched them with him and explained that it isn't real that the violence portrayed is just for the movies, not real, and that real violence is never acceptable.

I have a 3 1/2 year old little girl who loved the movie! This movie was a big hit also with my girlfriends little boy who is 4. When taken this movie into consideration you need to decide if your child scares easy. There is allot of fighting in the movie. My 3 1/2 will tell me with in the first few min. of a movie if it scares her. I think you need to rent the movie and watch it first if you are worried about it. Me personally I loved it as well as both my kids!

It's a violent movie; the transformers fight each other quite a bit and lots of buildings are destroyed in the process. There is some sexual humor, but only one scene where main stars kiss in the end. The language is rough in many parts. In the beginning of the movie after hearing some of the language used I remember asking my DH what the movie was rated. On another note, I think it was semi entertaining for adults. Overall, I don't think it's really a kid-friendly movie.

This is a great website that gives specific ratings based on violence, sex, and profanity. It also describes the scenes that contain and of those things. Its almost as good as watching the movie before hand, which most busy moms don't have the time or money, in the case of new releases, to do.

It is not appropriate for a 3 year old. The mother of the "hero" of the movie asks if he was maturbating in his room (supposed to be funny) and there are other sexual inuendos and there is language I would not want my child to repeat.

I love this movie!!! I would probably let a 3.5 year old watch it. Lots of action.

I would not recommend it for his age, but you could try to find the old cartoons. He would probably like those.

Definately too young to watch the movie. Very violent and a little scary. My 8 yr old watched it and was a little unnerved at some of the scenes. Excellent for adults and older kids. Try the old cartoons. I know you can rent free kids movies from the library or Dollar Video. Good luck,

I saw the movie about a month ago and loved it, but it's too scary for a 3 1/2 yr. old. If you have Comcast they have it On Demand right now if you want to check it out for yourself before you let your child watch it.

My son is 4 and has watched the movie several times. We seem to like it more than he does. It is a little slow in the begining, but once the transformers really become a part of the movie it was great for him. I personally do not think it was to terribly violent (it is mainly transformers fighting transformers). There are a few swear words tossed around and a few sexual referances but he is too young to catch it. I would deffinately recomend you watching it first if you are concerned. I too have let my son watch alot of these types of movies (he also loves Spiderman).

i am not sure what the rating is because really a 3 yr old should not watch anything over pg, but i do have to confess that all of the kids in my neighborhood came to my house to watch this movie last year when it came out.
We bought the movie and loved it. Plus, all the moms let the children in the neighborhood come over to watch.
I think it is a very action paced but cool movie for adults and children alike.

My son saw this and he is 5. It is pretty cool - but violent and the graphics may be scary. You can also go to the website www.moviemom.com for other reviews on kids flicks.
Also I think he would enjoy the cartoon. It is pretty new and it is only on Saturday mornings. I think it is on Disney or Nick Jr ?? Not sure - maybe check the TV guide.

It is a good movie for older children and adults, but maybe not so good for younger children. There is a lot of fighting in it. You should watch it first and see if you think your son would be ok watching it.
