Ok maybe I don't know what I'm doing but I think I've had it with this site. There are so many ads on here that I can't even navigate. They pop up on the page and play all at once. Repeatedly. It didn't start out like that.
I think I'm done here if I can't stop them. What can I do y'all?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Ok ,I will educate myself on ad blockers Thank you for the help. (But there was one poster who seemed a little miffed that I complained. Oh, well. If you don't ask you don't get.)

I started out ok and then at one point the ads got really bad, and I think everyone found them very bad at the same time. They were playing videos. The videos were slowing down my laptop terribly and causing problems for me. Moms recommended Adblock and I've used that and Adblock Plus (right now using the Plus version for some reason it's working better for me).

I know the site needs ads to run (to pay for itself) but for me, it was so frustrating - much more so than any other site/web page I visited.

Welcome to Mamapedia - I know you mentioned in another post that you've been on this site for about one week. But I guess it's hello and goodbye if you are done here.

Mamapedia is a free site that is very helpful for lots of parents (and non-parents with parenting-type questions). The ads can help to generate revenue necessary to keep the site free for users.

I use Firefox with add ons AdBlock and AdBlock Plus and it really tames the out of control ads.
For mobile devices there's an AdBlock browser that works really well.

You can use an ad blocker. I use uBlock Origin. Others can suggest ones they use too. I could not navigate this site without one either. I don't mind free sites like this having some ads, but they were so irritating, loud, or moved around that I couldn't take it. I had enough when I kept getting one on here that was for hot asian girls.

I use google chrome with an AdBlock add-in program. It's free, you can type it in your google search bar and find it. And I agree with you. I almost gave up on this site early on because the ads could freeze my entire computer trying to play over and over. I know the ads allow the site to exist, but they were (and I guess still are although I don't see them) way over the top.

Mamapedia does sell ads, but you don’t have to see them if you have Adblock. I do understand what you mean by so many ads. But you can control them. Maybe go to Best Buy and have the Geek Squad help you if you don’t know how to do it. It will help you in a lot of ways - not just Mamapedia.
