I am thinking about hiring a painter to paint my living room and dining room, but I have know idea what something like this would cost. I want the walls and ceiling painted. I was wondering if anyone would mind sharing what they have paid to have rooms in their houses painted so I would have some idea if I even wanted to try and do this. Thanks in advance for any tips!

Mark Westbrook ###-###-####

We had hired one painter and actually had to fire him-replacing him with Mark who took over and corrected the terrible work. Mark is a Christian family man and located in McKinney. He is honest, dependable and does excellent work. He painted many rooms in our home and even did a texture and beautiful faux finish in our home office. Please tell him I referred you.

Hi, C..

I have a 1800 sq ft home and recent had my family room, entry, dining room and kitchen painted and I think it cost around $800. Of course they moved and covered all the furniture and put everything back in it's place. They did a wonderful job and the owner came out a couple of days later to check for touch ups and make sure I was satisfied. I think it was worth every penny.

We got a quote for our home and it was right around $10,000. I know people in my neighborhood are paying $7000 and up. OUCH!!

We have 4000+/- sq feet. The front entry is hardest with very high ceilings.

We are very picky and particular when it comes to someone working at our home. We expect someone to work as if it is their own home and NOT MANY people do that. We are not afraid to get ourselves dirty so we decided to do it ourselves. It will be a slower process but it will be done right. Hubby bought the 12ft ladder this week. We might have to contract the 1 front room because it is so high.

We built our home in 2000 and last year we painted daughter's room and we used a lot more paint that we expected. The builders just blow some paint on and when you go to repaint, the walls really soak it up. Her room is perfect now so that is 1 less for us to do!!

Good luck!
