SO - significant other
DH/S/D - darling husband, son, daughter
TTC - trying to conceive
TIA - thanks in advanc
IMHO - in my humble opinion
TMI - too much information
If you have some specifics, let me know, I MIGHT be able to help
So I haven't been on this site for too long and get confused sometimes by the abbreviations used. Can anyone help me with these? Some of the ones that I know are MIL, FIL, SO and others. I guess I just have a hard time understand some posts sometimes because I don't know all the abbreviations. I have looked around the site and don't see anything about them.
Thanks for any help you may be able to give!

thanks workinmom, i wasn't too sure myself, i ASSUMED most of the abbreviations, and was right, but this confirmed it :)
MIL is Mother In Law, same for FIL (Father). Don't know SO. SAHM- stay at home M.. Any others? I think I just figured them out eventual with reading the context. Good question though!
Not a dumb question!
I had to ask when I first found this site too....and for the record, I like most all of them but I am not a fan of the "DD/DS"...I mean really? Who calls there kids "Dear Daughter/Dear Son"...still confused by these ones??
I know some of them but others I am still in the dark on, so here it goes:
MIL - Mother in Law
FIL - Father in Law
BIL - Brother in Law
SIL - Sister in Law
DS - Dear Son
DD - Dear Daughter
DH - Dear Husband
Those are the only ones I got stuck on at first. I can't think of any others. I have noticed a lot of medical abbreviations as well but on those I have been able to look up pretty easily. Enjoy!
I dont even know what SO is..... But I hope somebody answeres, so I can know to... Thanks for asking
It is common internet lingo.
