I realize that I can't call what I have left "baby weight" since he is now two. But I have this really annoying ten pounds still hanging around. Okay...maybe more like twelve or thirteen. And they are NOT going away. HELP!

What can I do next?

I hear you on the last 10,13,15! I have rested with the philosophy "9 months up, 9 months down" but that means I only have about 25 days left to drop 20 pounds! Even DR.90210 would laugh at me. And after those 25 days what will be my excuse? Stress? Time? Energy? So I am really trying to get off my butt and exercise more, laughable, but the only thing that would work. How about grabbing a friend and joining a gym, the ones that provide child care? For the sake of my carbs and sanity, I am trying to eat less fat and no soda! No eating after 6 pm....the same thing that you hear all the time.

Point is you have to be happy in your own skin, and you will have to find what is right for your body. In this persuit of happiness try not to get discouraged...can you still play with your kids and keep up with them? If so, than you have to work through for yourself at being happy...your health isn't at risk, so relax!

I took me a long time to realize all of this...as diet pills are way too easy, and body image is so in your face, but at the end of the day you have your family and your health and there are others out there struggling with the same thing. And in this case misery loves company!

M., I feel you girl, way toooo much. I'm wondering what other mothers will say. I gained a lot of weight with my first boy, 68lbs, and had only lost a little of it when I became preg with my 2nd. I was able to loose my 2nd prego baby weight, but never have been able to touch any of my 1st. I'm hovering at 225 now and want to get back down to 176. I've been trying with exercise, diet and all sorts of gimicks for almost a year now. It's hard, and most of all frustrating. Hardest of all, I am a control freak, and when it comes to my weight, that is one thing I find the hardest to control.

My son just turned 3 and I am battling the last 6-7 lbs. I dropped all of it with my first two, but it is hard with this last one. Everyone says it is because I am older, but that doesn't matter. Everything is more sqoooshier now. I watch everything I eat but with working and three of them, it is hard to find time to go to a gym and when I do my tapes at home, my son and the dog are right under my feet. So if you find the answer let me know. I am looking forward to getting outside when it finally becomes nice out.

Hi M.,
I also had the same problem. I lost all but 10-15lbs after having my son. I worked out every day doing windsor pilates but it didn't seem to get those last pounds. I believe after having kids losing weight is even harder because of the stress factor. I just wanted you to know there are other moms with those extra pounds still in tow. hehe. Good luck let me know if you find anything that works for you. By the way my son is almost 3 now so it is no longer baby weight anymore either.

Well ladies my daughter is 5. It took me all of that 5 years to loose the baby weight. I gained 32lbs and I had a 8lb 3oz baby and I left the hospital the same as when I went in to have her. I was also a breast feeding mom. They say breastfeeding will make you loose faster, well I don't think so. Just this feb I went to the dr and weighed just 2 lbs more than before I got pregnant. To be honest I still feel bigger than the scale says I am. It is a very frutrating thing I know. Good luck!!!

Join the club! It seems as though the first 20 dropped like nothing. The last 10 must be actually weight that we put on ourselves... not from the baby! I've been attempting to walk (but the weather stinks) and do crunches to get rid of my baby fat. I've also been really watching what I eat and have completely cut out soda from my diet. I have seen a difference already and I think it has to do w/ no soda. Good luck!
