Those Little Laundry Pac Thingys

They look like those Cascade pacs that you put in your dishwasher. I have seen them more and more these past few weeks at the grocery store. Are the manufacturers of laundry soap switching from liquid and powder to these things? Have you tried them? Do they work as well as the liquid or powdered soap especially in the HE machines?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you ladies for all of your helpful advice. While at Lowe's yesterday, I bought some of these Tide pacs. I used one in a large load and the load came out cleaner and more fragrant than the liquid soap. I don't know if I'm completely sold on these pacs, but I was impressed.

I have seen them but not tried them. All I can think is how lazy are some people.

No they are not switching over. Not enough people would change and like Koren says they don't work in short cycles.

Things like these packs increase their margin so they make more money. They would love for people to buy them so they get the prime real estate, doesn't men they are any better.

I do the gel packs, and they are great for large loads. I save up my wash so I dont do smalls, if I do, do smalls its usually delicate, or hand washing. So then I use woolite or some other type of soaps. I dont think I am too lazy for wanting to use the gel packs. I think its just simply less spillage, less dealing with the cup getting clogged, and I feel it washes better. Since every piece is getting touched by it, but maybe its my insane need to justify buying tide... though i am seeing more brands offering now.

I have a friend that is blind, she has been using them for years. They work great, but as mentioned below.. If you are doing smaller loads, you will want to always have some regular detergent for those instances.

Sure is going to make it easier for those that are not good at measuring.. Teens, husbands.. distracted moms.

I have used the DROPPS for several years now. Not on a routine basis, though. *I originally found them when my daughter was going to Europe for 2 weeks and needed something biodegradable and easy to pack. I've since kept them on hand as the kids were getting older, because they are easy for them to use to do their own laundry.
My son is now on his own and once in a while will take a package home with him.
At first I could only get them online. Then Target had them for a while and apparently they didn't go over well, so they put them on clearance. I bought all the clearance ones at the time so I'm pretty well stocked up.
I have had an HE front-loader the whole time and never had any problems.

I got a few samples in the mail but have not tried them yet.

But I am thinking the Tide ones will be a GREAT thing to send to college with my teen in the fall. No jug of detergent, and they alway have that spillage on the bottle after you pour it out and she will have to put the jug back into her basket of clean stuff to lug it back to the dorm room. These things seem ideal for a dorm situation!

So I will keep my eyes open for coupons for some for her, and try my samples one of these days!

They save us money on laundry detergent. if you look at the loads that liquid detergent CLAIMS to give, there is a little star there meaning if you buy one that claims to wash 160 loads it is really 160 loads on line number one. which means you really only get 1/3 of that really. or I do anyhow, I always fill up the cup to the top and pour it on in. I love the tide, i swear it makes my clothes come out lookin brand new. good luck.

I love the Tide boost we have well water and cant use bleach bc it will pull the rust out of the water and transfer it to the clothes. I want to do the math on the all in one pods since I use both det and the boost pouches. I usually only buy det that I have a coupon for and buy the smallest container, for best price to coupon ratio, and I do have a front loader HE machine, the only thing I do recommend is only use the pouches on a full cycle load not the quick wash its not enough time for the puoch to fully desolve the powder and rinse out.
