my daughter is one and has had a tiny, hard, flesh colored, bump on her areola since she was born. It doesn't seem to bother her or be getting any bigger, though it is slightly larger than her nipple, which is also really tiny of course.

I can't find any info online about it.

Any ideas or similar experiences???

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks for all you advise! I took her to the Dr. and she said it looked like i little cyst. If you can pinch it and it is NOT attached to the fat layer or muscle then it's most likely a cyst.

was your daughter born with a false period? (don't think I am nuts cause this happens A LOT) If so then she had a heavy dose, of female hormones in utero, and sometimes this causes lumpy breasts. My 4 year old was born this way, and till she was 2 she had a lump in her breast. It was just hormonal reasons, however I did go and have it checked out several times to be sure nothing had changed. It is gone now. My other 2 year daughter doesn't have it, nor my son.

It's never wrong to speak to the doctor. I'd much rather overreact and be wrong than underreact and be wrong. Speak to the pediatrician.

It could be a mole. I would let the dr know about just in case it is something more serious.

My sister had small lumps when she was a baby. She was breastfed and the doctor told my mom that is was because she was so healthy from the breastmilk....
just a thought
