I had a copper T for years before I had my children. I never had a problem with using tampons at all.
So when Cindy posted her question in regards to our thoughts about the Copper T IUD I was surprised when one mom said yes you can use Tampons when I had said you couldn't! I have been suffering for years wearing damn pads because the mid-wife told me I couldn't- So please tell me MOMS with IUD's is it a good idea or not- Please do tell -because I'm always the lucky one that everytime I have to travel, go on vacation or just do something away from the home- I get my period!!!! LOL- all these years!
This is so funny!! You guys have no idea all the things I have gone through- even vacations ruined because I had my period at the beach and couldn't go in the water because I wore pads!! LOL! I wish I could turn back time!
She probably told me for the first month Natalie as well and I understood never to use. Lordi Lou- Thank You ladies!!!! I'm going to the pharmacy right now and will celebrate with my next period- no more pads to work!!!
Have a great weekend!

I don't use tampons with mine, but I do use a "diva cup," which is not much different than a tampon. My midwife didn't say anything about not using tampons with my copper-T.
Hi J.,
I've had my IUD for 6 years now and I've always used tampons. So far, so good.
Take care,

I had a copper IUD, and I ALWAYS used a tampon. Never was told not to, and I never had any troubles.
I always used tampons without a problem.
to use it will make your life easier! D.
I had Mirena IUD for 5 yrs and always wore a tampon...Now I have the essure....never been more happier
Ayayai. I just got an IUD (literally) and what my doc said was Not to use tampons for the 1st MONTH. That's it girl. Then you are free as a bird. LOL. -N.
My sister had the Mirena IUD for years. She always used tampons with no problem. I wouldn't see why not. I mean if you could only wear pads with an IUD, I would think no women would get them. I would google who makes the IUD and call up the customer service number and just ask them yourself. Good luck!
