Toddler Stuck a Tube in His Ear!

I turned away for literally a second last night and my 20 month old took the Debrox Ear Wax Removal bottle and stuck the pointy tube thing in his ear! Since I wasn't looking I don't know how hard he jabbed it or how far but he started crying immediately. I held him and he quieted down within a minute and there was no drainage or discharge from his ear. I whispered in that ear to see if he could hear me and he could b/c he was following my commands (like wave hi). He seems fine this morning too but I'm just worried that maybe there was damage done to the ear? Does it sound like he's fine or should I take him to the doctor?

What can I do next?

I would call the PED office and tell them what happened. They will talk to the doctor and determine if she needs to see him.

My husband used to stick things in his ears all the time as a little boy. Once he had to go to ER to have a pen cap removed from his ear. I don't know how that thing got stuck, but it did...so they say.

It couldn't hurt to have a doctor look in. Since you want just a quick peek they might fit you in right a way. Plus they could give you advise on what to look for.

I would definitely take him in to get checked. It will at least give you some peace of mind.

I would take him to the doctor for a quick peek, just to make sure he hasn't damaged his ear drum. I don't think you can tell without an otoscope.

YES take him to the Doctor, now.
Today.
His inner ear and anything else needs to be looked at.
A layperson, cannot deduce anything from it otherwise.
