Hello MOMs!

When it first started it was very light and at night would almost stop. Now it is starting to get heavier and slow at night. I'm not sure what is going on should I call my doctor, or could it be from comming off bc and my cycle is just messed up! I know this not agreat subjest but I am starting to get a little concerned!! Any sugestions would be greatly appreciated!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks everyone for your advice! I saw an OBGYN and he gave me Provera and it stopped! It should re-start my system, and if it doesn't he is going to run more tests. God knows what is best for us and he is in charge and I know he work this all out! Thanks again!
K.

I would call your doctor. I have PCOS and it can make periods last a long time. When I came off BC, mine were just heavy and after a couple months they lasted forever. But make an appoinment to make sure.

You really need to contact your doctor. If you have been trying to concieve, then you could have a tubal pregancy or some other problems. It is best to have a doctor check it out. A period that last for 2 weeks is not normal.

I would check with your Dr. I know when i came off bc and was trying for our third child, my cycles were crazy. After bout a year of trying I went to the Dr. and they ran test. We didint find any thing but the Dr told me too lose weight ( I was at 190). As i lost weight my cycles straightened out and I became pregnant. I wouldnt take chances though if you feel somethings just not right get checked.

Best to check with your doctor, but it can be caused by comming off bc every one has different re-actions to comming off different bc's. I did not have that problem but I have had friends who have.

Call your doctor and set an appointment. They may not be able to get you in until your next cycle, but they can check to make sure everything is okay. When I went off my BC a few years ago- I had normal cycles for almost 2 years, then all of a sudden they got longer and longer (14- 15 days). I had a form of endometryosis and had to go back on the bc to control it.

Drs. may want to try you on hormone therapy to get you regular first, or you may need a D&C/fill in spill to 'clear the way'. I had to do this for both children. You need to be somewhat regular to predict your ovulation cycles. Also, some women can develop endometriosis for the first time after having a child. I'd had it since 16 and it was a lengthy battle, but I have my 2 beautiful boys and they gave me a hysterectomy when my little on was 3. Be patient, but also be aggressive with making sure there are no blockages in your tubes, etc.

I think you should see you doc but make it clear that you are trying to get pregnant so they don't put you on birth control. If something is wrong, however, it might be better to find out before you concieve to prevent complications later. Good Luck!!
