Well, Donna Summer has danced her Last Dance and has departed us. Her music totally defined my 70s childhood. So many great songs ... what is your favorite? I think mine might be Bad Girls, Last Dance a close second.

You're right, Victoria. My FIL died from lung cancer and he was a marathon runner, body surfer, scuba diver ... and a non-smoker.

What can I do next?

I liked all of her hits.
I wish she had not kept her lung cancer a secret. There is such a stigma attached to LC that should not be there. Smoking is only one of many, many causes. No one deserves LC. It kills many more women than breast cancer and gets way less funding and research.

I loved "On the Radio" and "MacArthur's Park"

Heaven knows "She Works Hard for the Money" is one my friends and I remember from our young days as single gals.

Apparently, she tried very hard to keep her illness a secret. That makes it a bit of a shock.
She didn't have the tabloid stories that many celebrities do.

I wish her restful peace.

Bad Girls and Last Dance. Although it wasn't so much that I loved the songs as they were ALWAYS there. Yup, grew up in the 70s.

Music you couldnt help dance to. "Hotstuff" comes to mind. She will be missed.
She and Whitney are making the angels dance.

that is sad. I took my girlfriend to Prom and while it was the 80's, Last Dance was still played.

Ms. Donna Summer was a beautiful person and so defined 70's as I was growing up and in high school at the time. I loved all her big hits especially Last Dance. That song came out the year I was graduating high school and was played at the prom. So many memories forever she'll be remembered for her great voice. May she rest in peace.

Never been a HUGE Donna Summer fan....but Hard for the Money comes to mind.
She was an icon, it's undeniable. And the mid 70's and early 80's wouldn't have been the same without her! :)
RIP Donna.

Sorry to hear that she passed. Although - I was never really a Donna Summer fan. I was much sorrier that MCA from the Beastie Boys died. I would be hard pressed to pick a favorite song from those guys; I have everything they ever recorded on my iPod... :(
