Try to stay away from the flouride brands until she's older. My 4 yr. old still has trouble spitting everything out and they don't to be ingesting the flouride. It can cause permanent damage to the teeth if they get too much. Most likely that won't happen from just brushing (our dentist said) because you'll only be putting on a small amount...you don't need to coat the whole brush. For damage they'd have to pretty much sit down and eat a tube of it...but you never know. If you live in a city there is probably already flouride added to the water. You can check with the health dept. If you have well water (you can still do a check because it can be naturally occuring in the water table) or bottled water then your ped or dentist can prescribe a liquid or a chewable table of flouride because they do need the small amount.
