Have you seen the one for chasing fireflies?

My little girl will be 4 next month and wants to be a spider. I cannot for the life of me find a cute one anywhere! I've looked on Ebay, Pottery Barn kids, Target, Walmart, Amazon... I'm looking for something puffy and round around the midsection and something that doesn't look cheapy. Any ideas where I can find something like this? She's in a size 4/5.

Also u can get the cute matching spider basket to hold her candy. My dd is using it again this year.. It is made really well:). I hope this helps.

Have you looked at Old Navy? My daughter was an Old Navy bat last year and the costume was very cute, warm (a plus around here, but maybe not necessary where you are) and it was well made. I don't know if they have a spider, but it's worth a look.
Good luck.
What color spider? I know you don't want to do something "cheap", but if you can sew, it might be fun to find a pair of footy pajamas and add 2 more legs on each side. Get a pair of those googly eye antenna and you're done. It would be home made, but I made my son a lego boy costume (found a pic online - http://www.countryliving.com/crafts/projects/lego-costume...) and people loved it cause it wasn't off a hanger, pre-made, etc. It didn't take long and he loved it too :)
I googled "spider costume" and here are a couple of sites:

http://www.amazon.com/Infant-Toddler-Spider-Halloween-Cos... Amazing costume, contact them and see if they have one in the size you need.
http://www.walmart.com/ip/Spider-Toddler-Halloween-Costum... Love this one too.
Make your own using this idea.

I did something similar to Elboe B. below. Except I used a black long sleeved Tshirt and bought 3 pair of black tights. Stuff the legs of the tights with craft stuffing (like quilt batting or whatever) and hand stitch all the "crotch" pieces inside each other into a ball, also stuff with the batting/stuffing. Then stitch that big ball (the body of the spider) onto the back of the Tshirt so that the legs hang to the sides. 6 black tights legs, plus your daughter's 2 black arms/legs and you have a spider. You can add a black knit hat on her head and glue googly eyes on it (spiders have, I think, 10 eyes, so add 8 to the hat) or use face paint to draw additional eyes on your daughter's forehead. Add black pants and you are set.
Made it for my son when he was 4. My daughter wore it 2 years later when was 3 1/2. :)) Then they played dress up in it forever after that.... LOL.
Make one.
Take a big black hoodie and cut 3 long strips on each side in the bottom. Sew the strips into tubes and stuff with aluminum foil (so you can shape it). Let her arms be the forth leg on each side. Buy one small foam craft ball and cut it in half. Paint lots of eyes on it and glue or sew it to the hood.... Wear with black pants and Tadaa!!! Spider for like $10.
I used a pink hoodie and made my two year old an octopus last year. She was the hit of the party.
My son had one from old navy. It was a one piece black fleece w/ hood then it had a fluffy/puffy grey fleece that was the spider that went over it.
Have you looked at Marshalls? I have had the best luck there the past couple of years for my 2 and 3.5 year old. Great selection, quality and pricing. two years ago my son was a giraffe. Last year he was a firefighter and my daughter was a dalmatian. Cutest, fluffiest and furriest costumes ever! www.onestepahead.com also has some great costumes, but they are pricier. Old Navy has some cute things too. Good luck!

www.buycostumes.com is a great website for halloween costumes. I bought both my kids costumes thru them this year. they had a huge selection and you can sort them down to what your specifically looking for.
