TTC After IUD Removal (Mirena) *How Long?* Anyone Reading with past Experience?

I had the Mirena IUD inserted 2 years and nine months ago after having my daughter. Now that I am ready again, I had it removed today. I searched google without much help (just that 80% conceive in the first 12 months) in hopes to find someone with an experience similar to mine and get a general idea as to the time frame I'm looking at. Here is what my IUD experience has been:
-Inserted 2 years 9 months ago (6 weeks after birth)
-NO menstrual period while on Mirena
-NO history of know miscarriages
-26 years old and healthy
-Never had any problems with IUD (slipping, cysts, uterine attaching ect.)
So? Any ladies out there with similar circumstances? About how long did it take you to conceive after removing your Mirena? Also how long after removing did you receive your first period? It's been so long since I've had one but before it was usually the 30th-2nd of each month (I had it removed today the 14th so I would assume I start back my old menstrual schedule???) Thanks for your input and advice!

What can I do next?

I'm TTC after Mirena, also! I had mine removed September 9th...had very light spotting finally on the 27th. No real period yet....not pregnant yet. I had cryosurgery 10/7 for mild cervical dysplasia so that put me on hold to try for baby. Waiting to be cleared by the doc so we can try. I"m ready to see that positive test...try to relax...and try to be patient. I think I took a test several times a week in September. Ridiculous, I know. I am putting too much pressure on myself. I've decided to not worry...and just enjoy life. I'm on no BC...so at some point, it'll be my time. :) GOOD LUCK TO YOU!

I had mine in for 4 years with no period the whole time. I don't think when you had your period before will have any bearing on when you get it this time. After I had it taken out it took about 3 months for my period to become completely regular, so I could then track when my ovulatiuon. I got pregnant on the first try after that. Due in 3 weeks!

i had mine removed 7-19-2010 after having the first one 5 yrs then replaced and this one 9 months ( well it slipped and i pulled it the rest of the way out) but after my DR said i was fine we decided it was a sign so we are TTC number#3 ( which i am 29 ) so 2 days after removal i had a very heavy removal bleeding not a period.. for 7 days which my period only last 3 then i could of bet money on it that i was pregnant the whole month of aug u name it i swear i had it phantom pregnancy symptoms 42 days from the day the iud came out and was in my hand i FINALLY started my period ( which while i had mirena i never had a period) it started out spotting then got heavier as days went by which lasted 5 days and i ovluated 14-16 days later and now i am 2 days past ovulation and i am now just waiting from the day i start my period or take a test i broke the bank last month so i will hold off until i am one day late this time but the way i figure it the longer it takes my body to get back to normal to get pregnant the better and healthier the pregnancy will be..i hope this helps

I had pretty much the same details as yours except that I'm 40. I waited six months after removal to be sure that I was back to normal, then started trying. (They recommended waiting a few months so that we could date the pregnancy accurately. I don't think there were any concerns about safety for a fetus.) I was pregnant with my second within 4 months of starting to try. Good luck!

I had my mirena in for about 3.5 years and had it removed on January 1st 2010. My periods had taken about 30 days to return back to normal and then they were very consistant and I was able to track my ovulation on webmd ovulation calendar. Then I found out I was pregnant in April and due January 18th 2011. So it took us about 4 months. Good luck!
