Update - Needle Biopsy Question from Last Week

Not really a question but an update on a question I asked last week about what to expect for a vacuum assisted core needle biopsy and cyst aspiration. Thank you for your responses and good thoughts. Had the procedure on Monday and it went surprisingly well. Very little pain and reasonably good recovery. Two days out and no pain and very little discomfort over all - nothing tylenol can't handle. And got results today that it's all benign. And I got a fancy little titanium clip in there now that will forever mark the spot to keep a close eye on it in the future.

This community is always very helpful and smart, and I love the diversity of the people here. So thanks again!

What good news (or lousy news) do you have today?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Molly - thanks! Aw. Poor girl. It is really sad that kindergarten has become so serious. I hope she finds some joy in school soon.

Thank you all for your good wishes! I was reasonably sure the cyst was just a cyst, but behind the cyst they found a mass that didn't show up on mammogram, that couldn't be felt, that only showed up on ultrasound. I am grateful they were so cautious and even more grateful it was benign. I have a reasonably high risk, so it is a relief.

Alissafey, thank you for sharing your story. I assure you, the experience of being in this large cancer center, dedicated to breast health, one of the best in the country, made me think of and brought me in contact with many brave women like your mother. The significance definitely wasn't lost on me. I'm sorry for your loss.

What good news do I have today? That your biopsy went well and everything is ok.

Bad news? A friend's hubby retired last week. Yesterday he was having trouble breathing and went to the er. Heart attack, transferred to a bigger hospital and having quad bypass and a couple other procedures today. So frightened for her family right now. She's 1000 miles away so nothing I can really do except text her that she's in my thoughts and prayers today.

Congrats on a benign result! And I'm glad the pain was minimal. :)

My daughter started Kindergarten this week and we both hate it. Who knew your weren't allowed to talk or play in kindergarten anymore? Yes, you read that right. No talking. No playing. Just work. :( On the flip side my son is enjoyed his solo mommy time immensely.

ETA: oh Molly!! That sucks!! No playing??!?!? YUCK!!

YAHOO!! So glad to hear this!!

Lousy news? My dad spent Saturday in the hospital - they suspected heart attack - good news - it was not heart attack nor stroke. On top of this, he has a VERY aggressive Sqamous Cell Carcinoma on his neck that was biopsied in late July - and while the doctor feels it's important? Couldn't get him in for surgery until 5 September....so now we go in next week and figure out if the doctor got it all when he removed it in July....oh joy!!

Great news?? The client selected two of my candidates this week!! YAHOO!!

Again, I'm glad all is well with you!

So happy for you! My mom just died this July from breast cancer. So I can not tell you how happy I am to hear that there are benign diagnosis's out there. Its so easy right now that everyone wants to share their cancer stories with me and I do appreciate it... But I just love hearing your story that your cyst was benign.

That is great news! So glad you kept us up to date and SO glad to hear your good results.

My news... I spent my Monday evening through Tuesday evening with a sweet little dog that found her way to my house. I was beginning to think we would have 3 dogs but the owner was finally found and the dog is home safely. She spent most of her day in my lap yesterday (poodle mix) and my toy poodle was very mad at me but he has forgiven me now.. and he is back in my lap!

And to Molly... that does not sound right. This will be my 14th year subbing and I have never heard of K being that strict.

Thank you for sharing your good news. I am so happy for you.

My good news is that my son, who left one school because of being bullied for being gay is absolutely loving his online high school. Great teachers and great students. He feels like he belongs and he is learning a lot. He is happy, which means mom is happy. Other good news, younger son loves his new teachers and is very happy with the school year so far. And he is really loving swim team.

So happy for you. @ Molly - that is awful - have you spoken to the teacher and principal. Perhaps it is a new teacher and she is just really nervous about her first class? Kindergarten is still full of play and learning through play. Look for a new school if you need to. Having your little girl love school is too important.

my good news is that my little blue mare's enucleation surgery went well yesterday, and the prognosis is good. her sewed-up eye is ghastly-looking and she's in some pain, but glad to be home.
i tend to be a crunchy granola natural girl, but i have to give a shout-out to modern medicine and its advances sometimes!
