K.K.
I don't think I have ever seen a Veggie Tale video that I didn't love. My kids loved every one we had and we still sometimes sing the silly songs (keep in mind my kids are now ages 14 - 23).
My son is 2 and 4 months. We recently rented a VeggieTales video from the library ("The Ballad of Little Joe") and my son really seemed to like it. His Gammie said she'd like to buy him a few videos when she comes to town to visit (in three days!). So I'm curious which videos are your toddler's favorites. I see that there are a lot of videos. One was subtitled "Dealing with Peer Pressure" and that's NOT one I'd want to get, as my 2 yr old does't have too much peer pressue to deal with yet.
So please list your young one's favorite Veggie Tales videos.
THANKS in advance!
In 8 responses, y'all have mentioned a total of 20 different movies. Sounds like they're all great, then. I went to their website to read the "lesson learned" and might get the one about sharing, or the one about selfishness, as they are topics that my son does have to deal with every once in a while. But it after tallying responses so far, THE PIRATES, KING GEORGE, and SING ALONG have the most 'votes.' THANKS! I can't wait to see if more responses come in.
UPDATE: In 15 responses y'all still seem to agree on the Silly Sing Alongs (which I noticed online there are quite a few DVDs that are silly sing along songs). You also agree that Pirates movie, Jonah, and King George are great. I did look last night in my Family Christian mailer and noticed that pre-ordering the new movie will save me a few dollars, but I get a free triple-feature DVD with it. I also noticed one movie for $5, so that's a deal. I will let Gammie get what she wants for my boy, but will keep note that you guys have some favorites. THANKS!

The silly song veggie tale videos are really cute and appropriate for 2 year olds, that's when my kids started watching them. I believe they have two or three silly song dvds out by now.
We LOVE King George & the Ducky...Madame Blueberry...Jonah as well as The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything (they're the feature-length movies)...Actually, I have yet to watch a Veggies that we don't like.
I haven't seen a veggie tales I don't like and I've seen all of them.
We actually own all of them. Some favorites are
King George and the Ducky
The pirates that don't do anything,
God want's me to forgive THEM?
Gideon the tuba warrior
Madame Blueberry
Wizard of Haz
Where's God when I'm scared.
Huckleberry Larry and Tomato Sawyer
Moe and the big exit.
Sheerluck Homes and the golden ruler
and
Minnesota Cuke
This list is from my daughter. Who's been watching them since she was tiny.
For just pleasure, my kids loved the silly songs, but the story videos try to teach a lesson. Think about the issues that your children are dealing with (bullies, lying, being small, etc.) and you can probably find a Veggie Tales video that matches. My kids also really liked the feature length ones (Jonah and The Pirates Who Don't Do Anyything).
we love Are you my neighbor? And Rack, Shack, and Benny.
Favorites around here are Josh and the Big Wall, King George and the Ducky and Pistachio.
My son is OBSESSED with the Veggie Tales! Seriously, that's all he wants to watch. We have more than you could count, but the sing along ones are really fun since they have the silly songs on them. Also, Jonah and The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything are great. He also loves "Heros of the Bible". It has the Ballad of Little Joe and 2 other stories on it, including "Mo and the Big Exit", which is supposed to be like a sequel to The Ballad of Little Joe. The "God Made You Special" DVD also has 3 stories on it, so you get more bang for your buck, so to speak. I could go on and on, since we own nearly all of them, but you really can't go wrong with any of them. They have one called "Pistachio" that is like the Pinocchio story, but with the veggies...that one is fun too. Again, you can't go wrong with any of them! Have fun! That's about all we watch or listen to anymore since we have lots of their CD's also. But, I don't complain because the message in them can't be beat! :-)
To know... Netflix has most of them available for streaming. So if you have netflix, you can stream several to get an idea.
Another *killer* toddler show, is Thomas the Tank Engine.
My kids have a veggie sing along that they love. It is short skits with songs from lots of the videos between.
w-where's god when i'm scared!!!!! i love that one. you can also pull some episodes up on youtube. (i know from personal experience lol). i love the song GOD is bigger then the boggeyman!!!! that particular dvd deals with being scared and the biblical story on the second part is about daniel and the lions den.
my kids loved dave and the giant pickle, the rumor weed and madam blueberry there was one about a chocolate bunny but i don't remember the name of it and one about christmas. my kids loved them when they were smaller
Veggie Tales! They weren't around yet when I was a kid, but I used to show them to kids I babysat and grew to love them. We also used them a lot in Children's Church. I personally love the one about the chocolate bunny. I think that's the Rack, Shack, and Benny one.
The Top 10 Silly Songs is great too. We have the soundtrack to that one and my 18 mo loves the cheeseburger song.
Heck, we watched Veggie Tales in college! We got snowed in one weekend (a rare sight in eastern NC) and one of my friends brought the Silly Song Countdown DVD down to the lounge and we all sat around and sang along. It's multi-generational fun!
My kids liked the pirate one.
Lifeway Christian Stores has a special this month. If you pre-order the new holiday movie, you get one free, and they have several movies for 5.00 We love them all!
I know I am a little late responding to this, but my baby likes the Wizard of Ha's veggie tale video. It's super cute. I love watching them myself. =)
In all honesty whether they get the lessons that are for the older kids doesn't seem to matter. I have a 6,4 and 2.5 yr old and they love them all. We have quite a few. I figure the lesson will come when they are older right now they enjoy the stories and songs.
I agree about the silly songs, we love it and we have a ton of Veggie tales. If you go to the Big Idea site, they sometimes sales and specials. I bought some through eBay too.
We have watched Jonah: A Veggietales Movie repeatedly!!
