Chocolate coated marshmellow?
I'd like to make 'Oreo Turkeys" for my son to take to school for his birthday later this month. Unfortunately, all the recipes I have show them being made with a mini reeses peanut butter cup for the body and one of his classmates has a peanut allergy so I'm not allowed to send anything peanut into the classroom. Does anyone have a suggestion of a substitute candy that I can use?
Thanks for your help...I think I'm going to try the chocolate covered marshmallows. The rolo might work if it's not too small. Thanks ladies...so clever!
Chocolate coated marshmellow?
I've made the turkey cookies SfromTX recommended, they are SO cute and so much easier than they look!! (Okay, one turkey had some crossed eyes and a few had club feet, but overall they were adorable)...
I was thinking Rolo too.
Or..
Here is a recipe for turkey cookies that I make with my kids every year.

Our class has a child with peanut allergies in it and on the list of prohibited items is chocolate as well. It's not just peanut butter that is the problem. Make sure you read the oreo package or any other item that has chocolate in it to see if it may have been packaged in a factory that also works with peanut products.
Mallow cups, they are made with milk chocolate and filled with marshmallow cream. I get them at places like Dollar General and maybe Walmart in the packages.
My neice has sever peanut allergies...so as far as I know the only chocolate that is safe is the plain hershey bars and the kisses because they are made in a seperate factory....what about Oreos if you need the round shape
How about Mallo Cups or Peppermint Patties.
