C.C.
I am now exercising on a regular basis. Its a bit easier now that my youngest is five yrs old. I also get my roots lighted every six weeks.
What treat do you get for yourself?
How do you "thank yourself"?
What can you fit in to your schedule that is a little treat?
I once in awhile buy myself a mocha, I've gone to dinner w/a friend a few times and just recently bought myself a few small trinkets while on a a camping trip at the little gift store there (they had the cutest things at 50% off. I couldn't resist.)
I no longer get pedi's or manicures.
I did buy myself some magazine subscriptions for $5/year but that company went out of biz and don't want to spend too much.
I go for walks 3 times a week.
Just watched a dollar movie rental w/hubby tonight (FUN!!).
But what else?
What do you do?

I don't do enough for myself. I'm so goal-oriented it's very hard to stop and take time out to relax. I do make sure I exercise regularly, and I enjoy the beautiful area we're blessed to live in. Lately I've decided to meet with friends more often. I almost never do that!
1. I treat myself by getting my nails done
2. My family is very big on thanking me, so I don't need to thank myself
3. My nails, lunch and shoping out with my daughter
4. I shop in catalogs for clothes and accesories
5. I watch movies with my husband
6. Home projects
7. I love gardening
8. I run a home daycare, so I am kept pretty busy.
It;s different for me right now because my youngest is 22, but I pretty much have done all the above while raising our children. J.
I work-out every day...I bike while watching tv/e-mail/FB.
I go see Rick Springfield every May. That's usually four nights. My husband takes vacation time to be home with our son. He always has a TON of vacation to burn and seems to look forward to being off with our son.
When I have the extra money I get a micro dermabrasion treatment. THAT brings me MUCH happiness and can see the difference in my skin MONTHS later!
I do my own nails and have done that forever. Once I figured out how to do it myself I saved a ton of money.I usually do them on Sunday night when bathtime is happening.
I also color my hair. BEST way to clear the house out! My boys can't stand the smell.
I'm lucky I get to be a SAHM, I save for my little outings and spend time looking for deals on-line while working-out. Good thing I'm a good multi tasker otherwise we'd have no extra money and I wouldn't be able to do anything that's JUST for myself.
It's AMAZING when you can find FREE or almost free things by just paying attention. He always thrilled when it's something cool for him but still appreciates the everyday items I unearth.
well i put my son in preschool 2 afternoons a week so that i can go to the gym and work out..now its almost time to start kindergarten and he wants to quit preschool this last month and promises he'll go to the gym daycare while i take classes..I just take him w/ my boyfriend and myself a lot ..that actually is my treat..exposing him to different things..he does go to his dad's one night a week..i love to vintage shop so my boyfriend and i do that..i bought an espresso machine at Target so i mostly make my own iced lattes..we hike..we just got back from a road trip in June and are going to Hawaii in August..we go swimming at the Rose Bowl sometimes ..i DJ w/ my boyfriend at Footsies a bar on the eastside once a month..i do get mani/pedi's like once a month..i like GLOSS in Silverlake..
i was running a lot but hurt my foot..Achilles Heel problem..i put my son in a yoga class that lasts for an hour and i can run or just relax while he does that..
we get grandma to watch my son and we go out to dinner..my son goes to Kid's Klub in Pasadena..they also offer a baby sitting service..around $9 an hour..i think it might be $7 an hour for school age kids..
my son will let me have "me" time so i will do yoga at home to DVD's or some workout..sometimes he works out w/ me..i think that's about it..we mostly like to keep active and are always off on some adventure..i really don't like going w/out him..he's my little buddy.

I just want to thank you for posting this question...I think we all should put a note on our bathroom mirrors asking: "What am I going to do for myself this week?" Some of us have to start out slowly. Love that some of the answers included working out as that is my treat to myself every morning. Sometimes I work out at night at then sit in the sauna at the gym for awhile. That's kind of a treat for my entire family, because then I am soooo relaxed and not doing a million things at home when everyone else is trying to relax! B.
My husband watches our daughter in the morning so I can take a walk by myself. I take a book and tea with me and sit in the sun for a bit.
I give myself pedi/manicures whenever I need a pick me up.
And I found a yoga class at the local YMCA that I take once a week.
i don't get myself very much. i do find the time to exercise. i get myself hair dye :) and get my haircut regularly (but that just started last year). i also have my husband take me out to dinner at least once a week. we normally go somewhere the kids eat for free to make it cheaper. but that gives me a night off from cooking.
