B.B.
Very pretty and classic.
Vee-ra
If you want the other way, I would recommend "Vairah". I taught a girl with that name last year.
Vera for a little girl. Thoughts? My son's name is Henry.
Also - how do you think this name is pronounced? (Vee-ruh - rhymes with BEER) or (Vair - uh - rhymes with Sarah)
Very pretty and classic.
Vee-ra
If you want the other way, I would recommend "Vairah". I taught a girl with that name last year.
I like it. It's unique, but be warned it is "old" fashioned. I would go with Veer-Ah as the way to pronounce it.
My elementary school teacher went by that name (in Italian it means "true" or "real" and also "wedding band" - did you know?). She was very elegant, so that name brings good feelings. Thank you for reminding me of her after 28 years!
I like it!
To me I say 'Ver-ah'...like Vera Wang?
Very pretty!
Love love love! And I'd pronounce it Vee-rah...
I think it is a very pretty name.
Veer-uh
Cute & sounds GREAT with Henry
Love it! My dad has a cousin by that name!
I would say "veer-ah".
I think it's cute.
veer-ah
Love it!
I love it! Vera and Henry...that's adorable! (oh, and it's a great name as a child and an adult. So many names are cute as children, but hard to grow into.)
It's my mother's name and I absolutely love it.
It sounds to me like the short way to Veronica, I like it.
I am curious how would you pronounce it?
Does the "e" and "a" has the short or long sounds?
I also like the match Vera and Henry, they do sound very nice and harmonic together.
I think Henry and Vera is just perfect!
:)
Everyone will say its veer-ah. I agree to spell it with an a instead of an e if you want it pronounced vair-ah, like vara or varah. I'm my sure I completely like Vera, other than Vera Wang it's a little too old fashioned for me, and while varah is pretty I'm not a huge fan of made up names. If you want another classic or modern but not trendy name to go with Henry, I like Amelia, Ava, Brooke, Cassandra, Cassidy, Delia, Evelyn/eve, Emma, Gwendolyn, Jane, Jenna, Jillian, kinley, Laura, Lauren, Maggie Mia, Nina, Norah, Olivia, Peyton, Quinn, Rachel, Taryn, veronica, Victoria. Congrats!
Very cute...like Vera Bradley...
It's VEER-ruh. http://inogolo.com/pronunciation/Vera
Like Vera Farmiga, the actress.
I have a distant cousin named Vera. Pronounced like Vera Wang's name.
If you want to pronounce it Varah, (like Sarah) I wouldn't spell it V-e-r-a.
Just my opinion.
I've known a couple Cara's, a Dara, then there's Farrah, Lara, Tara.
"Varah" isn't one I've heard before.
I think Henry and Vera sound pretty cute together.
Best wishes.
Thumbs up! Veer-ah... Very classic and great with Henry! :)
Vee-ruh, and I like it a lot!
looove
Vair-uh, like Vera Wang.
She'll probably LOVE to play with wedding dresses from the time she's named!!
Very sweet with Henry, I say.
Vee-ruh. It's a lovely name and it goes perfectly with Henry.
Like it! And (Vee-ruh)
I do not think your pronnunciation I think Vi-rah like Vera Wang the designer ... I think the name is fine but the spelling should reflect the pronnunciation.
My favorite teacher was named vera and it makes me think of a smart, level headed person. I love it!
I think its nice :-) I'm leaning towards Kimberly Rose if my next one is a girl .
Honestly, I'm not a fan. But it does go very nicely with Henry, and it's not very commonly used today which I like. I like unique names.
I think I have always pronounced it Veer-ah.
Long E, but not a long hard E.
Does that make sense? Lol.
I think it pairs lovely w/ Henry.
love the name! i tend to go with vair-uh
I love it:) Vee-ruh. It goes great with Henry:)
Vera (spelled just like that)is a Russian name(very popular in Russia), rhymes with Sarah and means FAITH.....beautiful!!!!!!!!!
Vair-uh.
It's a lovely name!
I wouldn't say Vee-ra.
Very isn't pronounced vee-ry.
The Beatles pronounce it Vee-ruh in "When I'm 64". Nice, old-fashioned name!
I read it as Vair-uh. So does my husband.
I would think its pronounced (vee-ruh)
Love the name!!! if our last name weren't totally latino that's one name I would totally use for my daughter. Her name is Isla, for some reason people say it as (eye-la) which sounds really cute, and I think it matches beatifully with Henry. Good Choice ;)
veeruh, vair uh sounds like viral!
I like the name though
It reminds me of an old persons name...so no, I don't like it.
Not my cup of tea however, if you like/love it that is all that matters. I had a great Aunt Vera. We called her Aunt Apple because she had a bunch of apple trees in her yard.
Vair-uh
Very pretty... I like :)
What a beautiful name!! It's so different and unique! When i read it, I read it as Ver-uh. But either way would be really pretty!
Makes me think of the old sitcom "Alice" -- remember that show? Or am I dating myself? I would pronounce it Veeruh.
LOVE it!! My moms side is Russian and I have fond memories of my Great Aunt Vera!! Sure it's an old name but you don't hear it often...
