We no longer have cable, we only use the XBox for Netflix and Hulu. We watch everything and it's really nice to be able to just put on a kids show whenever I like. We like being able to watch when we want to.
I signed up for the free 1 week trial, thinking that current tv shows would be on there. Well, some are, but not ones that I was really wanting (like "Breaking Bad," "The Walking Dead," "American Horror Story"). So, what do you watch on Hulu? Most of the current ones are already available on Comcast's OnDemand.
Thanks for the input. Based on your answers and the cable package we already have, as well as Netflix, I canceled the trial of Hulu Plus. It doesn't add much value, and didn't have as extended a selection as I was hoping.

The ones you are talking about are cable shows, I was under the impression that it's mostly regular network television that shows up on Hulu. The only time I ever watch anything on Hulu is like, if I miss an episode of Grey's Anatomy and it didnt record on my dvr for some reason. I don't think Hulu has a great selection, and I think it's crazy that you still get commercials even if you pay for a subscription. I'd rather stick with Netflix, even though the shows are at least a season behind (they just got season 2 of Walking Dead, for example) but at least there's no commercials.
I watch a lot of the network shows, but there are a bunch of shows that are Hulu produced. I like Battleground and The Booth on the End.
We have Netflix. For $8 per month the kids watch whole seasons of a certain show and then move on. Or they watch movies. I am watching a lot of BBC detective series. What I like is that when you finish something, it suggests what else you might like that is similar. It also makes suggestions based on your ratings of movies you watched. I have never really been able to find what I liked on Hulu.
We don't have cable so we use it for The Daily Show, kids shows, catching up on past seasons of shows (both from cable and broadcast) and current broadcast network shows since we can't DVR them and rarely get a shot at watching in real time. I haven't really paid attention to what networks originally aired what so I don't know the breakdown between broadcast and cable original programming. We have found a number of entertaining shows for my 4 year old son. (We also have a subscription to PlayOn and Amazon Prime to cover most everything.)
Once Upon A Time, The Daily Show, Arrow, SVU, GO ON. That's all I can think of at this very moment.
Breaking Bad (Seasons 1-4) is on Netflix. As are Seasons 1-2 of The Walking Dead. (no American Horror Story)
I have plain ol free Hulu and watch Grey's Anatomy, Raising Hope, New Girl, Modern Family, Parenthood, and more that I can't think of right now. You could watch any of those with Hulu Plus starting with season 1. But I don't think that one week is enough time to get all caught up with all the seasons (except you could probably get all caught up with Raising Hope and New Girl).
If I had PLUS I'd probably let my son watch SuperWhy and Martha Speaks - more episodes on H-Plus than on Netflix.
