What Has Your Pet Done Today That Is Funny, Exasperating, or Inspiring?

In lieu of my recent posts about my dog being naughty, I decided to say something nice about her. She pooped outside today! the end. Now I wanted to share a story about my kitten. I found Pickles being beaten by our grumpy, elderly neighbor. He was smacking him with a hose, because he thought it was pooping in his flower bed. The baby was only like 6 weeks at most. I doubt he was doing that. SO, I saved him. Talked dad into it. Well kitten proved to be a pain in the tush. It must have been a outside cats kitten. Took a while to get him used to his box. Much money later on health issues he is healthy now. He is semi good with the kids. He LOVES my 4 year old, she is the ONLY one in the house that can cuddle him or carry him around. HE HATES my 2 year old. He goes out of his way to hide, and jump her at all costs. He doesnt hurt her but the fact that he stalks her, bothers my husband and worried me some. He completely and utterly avoids my 11 month old son. If he sees him he bolts for the outdoors. The other night my son was very sick with a cold and broncial infection. He would NOT sleep the entire night. He was crying and inconsolable. Fever, running nose, squirts. I was getting a little concerned. SO after the girls woke up I went to our bedroom with him to lay on our bed to see if he would sleep. My husband was laying there too trying to help. The cat out of the blue (he dislikes my husband as well and very rarely comes to our bed) jumps up, comes over to where we are sitting, and lays right in front of the baby. We look at each other, and my husband makes a motion to get the cat off the bed, but I stopped him. I was curious what this cat wants? He is ALWAYS after food. ALWAYS. SO I thought maybe he is telling me he is hungry. So we watch. Soon my son realizes the cat is there, but he doesnt do anything at first, then the cat lays on his side and meows, and my son lays his head on his tummy. The cat started to purr, my son started to close his eyes, and gently massages the cats side and fur. In a matter of 2 minutes my baby was asleep using the cat as a pillow. The cat never moved. He fell asleep that way and they and me slept there for 4 hours. When we woke up and R, sat back up. The cat bolted out of the room, and is back to his normal cranky cat self. Strange but very interesting. Anyone have a great pet story today?

What can I do next?

Awww!! I have pictures of my daughters when they were both still in diapers, asleep on this bench swing, with the cat AND the dog asleep with them. Too precious!!

My dog ROCKS. He's so sweet and patient with my son. Roman is still working on GENTLY petting the dog (more like punching), and River dog just sits there like 'really kid? Are you done yet?' They're best buds... the dog loooves the baby, because babies are tasty to lick when they've got food all over their hands ;) Roman will also randomly grab a soft dog toy and pat River on the dog until he starts playing... stupid dog won't fetch for anyone but the baby!! It's so sweet to watch :)

Older cat puked and kitten couldn't get to it fast enough to gobble it up. Yup. Gross!! One hand cleaning the mess, one hand holding kitten back. Yuck.

Oh, that's SOOOOO sweet!

My kitties always find me when I'm upset or ill. You've got a good kitten!

I have two kitties. My big Siamese, MK, LOVES to drink from the bathroom sink, so I usually turn on the water for him when I use the restroom. The kitten, Nietzsche, now thinks it's hilarious to get into the sink before I turn on the water, hide, and ambush MK when he jumps up for a drink.

He is not amused. :o)

And Sonomom 2, why wouldn't you just let the kitten have it? You have an automatic cleaning crew! ;o) LOL!

That's a very sweet story! My cats were never big cuddlers, until I was pregnant... then they wanted to be ON TOP of me all the time!

I have 2 older cats (10 & 11 years old) and they had never been around kids much... my almost-3-year-old LOVES animals and always wants to pet, play, etc... for the most part the cats just run off and stay "up high" where she can't reach them. Lately, though, the older/bigger one (who is very much a "drama queen") has been sleeping in my girl's bed. She will even stay there, cuddled under the blankets, when we put her to bed! It's so cute! I think now that DD is older and has learned how to "pet gently" they don't seem to run & hide as much.
