It can be an older book or a newer book. Sometimes I find the older books have some hidden gems that new books forgot about. Any ideas?

What can I do next?

Have you tried the book, How Nature Works (by David Burnie)? Although it says it is for kids grade 4 and up, we recently ordered it, and there's a lot that younger kids can do.

If that doesn't fit your needs, the link below has a pile of science books for kids ranging from age 3-9:

I have a book at home from Bill Nye the Science Guy. It has appropriate science experiments and basic "how it works" info good for both k-2 and older kids. My kids loved going through it and choosing different things to check out.

My son is in first grade and we bought a science fair projects book at Lakeshore Learning Materials. The projects are so easy and fun (using stuff from home). They also have science projects in a box type activities too.

Good luck!
