What Temperature Weather Would Warrant the Use of a Blanket Sleeper?

We just got some fleece blanket sleepers (long sleeve, footie) for our 17 month old and they look pretty warm. I'm not sure what setting to put my heater to so that my son doesn't overheat or get too cold. 65 degrees? Do you thnk he'll be too hot? I get cold easily and my husband is NEVER cold so I'm not sure what a nice normal temp is for using blanket sleepers. Plus, do I put on anything underneath the blanket sleeper like a t-shirt or is just diaper ok? Thanks!

What can I do next?

My 17 month old is in blanket sleepers with nothing but a diaper underneath with the heater set at 68-70. She has no other blankets except for her security blankie. We've got the cool mist humidifier running at night so the air doesn't get too dry with the heater running. She's just right. Both my boys are in blanket sleepers right now too. Any colder than 68 and I'm waking up cold and I've got flannel sheets and a comforter on my bed and in my winter PJs.

Depends on where your baby sleeps at. Me and my son sleep in a drafty basement so he was in one year round. On nights that are not cold, but still average night time temp (65ish) he is in one and is fine.

Would you be too warm if you were wearing the blanket sleeper?
If you see him gettin sweaty around the neckline (hair will be wet) then you know he's too warm. Tshirt is optional.

Give them a try, but check him to see if he's too hot while he's sleeping. The best way is to feel the backs of babies necks, it should feel 'normal' body temperature - not too hot, not too cold. Plus, I'm sure if he's too hot or cold he won't sleep well. I know I don't!

I would keep the heater around 65 and put a digital temp gauge in his room so you know how warm it is in there. You can find them for not much money, try Target or Walmart. Then feel him while he is sleeping. If he is cold, you know its too cool in there. If he is too warm, either turn the heat down, close the heat vent in his room, or dont put him in the fleece sleeper. I wouldnt put anything under the fleece (except a diaper of course)unless he is cold and you dont want the heat any lower. Our bed rooms get so hot that i shut our vents. Other wise its too hot too sleep and we cant wear our warm cozy pajamas. But a baby's room should be between 60-68 i believe. I like it on the cooler side for sleeping. My boys room is about 67 in the winter, or cooler if they have on a lot of blankets or heavy pajamas.
