So I am sitting at my desk and this song comes on the radio= Angels on the Moon by Thriving Ivory. I cry every time I hear this song , The day my father died I was leaving the hospital after he had passed and was driving home. This song came on the radio and I just stopped in the road I couldn't move I just broke down right there. Every time I hear the song it takes immediately to that feeling honestly I have had to fight back tears in retail stores when it is playing and here I sit at my desk tears streaming quietly down my face because I cant stop it.
So my question- Is there a song that takes you somewhere and you just cant stop it?

Wind beneath my wings by Bette Midler. Everytime I hear that song I just can't seem to stop crying. It reminds me of my mom who passed away 13 years ago. We were sooo close and she was the only blood relative I had still living other than my two children. My mom would do anything and everything for me. I miss her so much.

Yes, it's a Celine Dion song, titled "Goodbye is the saddest word"....we played it at our mom's funeral. It's starts off saying "Mama....." It's not played on the radio or anything thankfully. But it's a beautiful song and it fit our occasion perfectly. I can't listen to it without crying all the way through it. My mom loved Celine Dion and we couldn't have asked for a more appropiate song. It's even hard for me as I type this. I not only lost my mom but my best friend. She is missed terribly.

There's one Evanescance song my baby brother played for his SIDS research study project... a project he did because my friends baby died of SIDS at my apartment, and he wanted to help me understand.

Also, and this sounds cheesey (it is!) When The Saints go Marching In... My Uncle Brian, who is my Godfather, had a jazz band play this super uplifting, New Orleans rendition of it after his funeral... THAT was his final wish, LOL, and it's SO 100% HIM!! So whenever I hear it, I smile and remember him and tear up, every time... but in a nice way :)

Yes. Your story reminded me of the song the I chose to play at my fathers funeral. I don't listen to it anymore. It is not a popular one so it is never played on the radio, but if it comes up on my ipod- sometimes I skip it and other times- just think of the happy memories. and there are ton- almost EVERY song i like is associated to someone or something in my life. Some songs take me back to 16 years old EVERY time I hear it.

"First Day of My Life" by Bright Eyes triggers a slideshow of every happy moment i've had with my husband in my mind. It's what we danced to at our wedding, and it was playing in our hospital room when our first born came into the world. If you look it up on Youtube, it will have you in tears. its' the most beautiful song :)

Yes! When I gave birth to my son, the theme song from the tv show "Friends" was playing (I'm surprised I could actually hear it over my own screaming and yelling - LOL), so whenever I hear it, it brings me right back to the delivery room.

Amazing Grace, makes me cry every time, I think of my great grandmother. She was very sick, and I was 16, everyone had gone to see her at the hospital that day, I was at work. I came to see her as soon as I got off. I sat with her for about 20 minutes holding her hand. Kissed her goodbye and left a note that I would be back in the morning. I hadn't been gone 5 minutes when my grandma called me to say she passed right after I left. I truly believe she waited for me to see her one last time. I miss her so much.

Yes-

For me it is a song I often sang in church called "You are Mine"...a very pretty song, usually sung at communion. When shannon was in the hospital, and I heard it, I was reduced to tears...There is a u tube version with David Hass singing it.

It always makes me think of shannon...and our struggle to bring her home...

So, I'm a bit of a freak. ;)
Chiquitita by ABBA reminds me of my grandmother - after her stroke but before her death. It gets me every time. I get the sniffles and pretty soon I'm crying like a baby... and that song won't get out of my head once it's in there!
