Why do they put lights on vacuums?

Does anyone actually vacuum in the dark?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Swear to ya, it makes no sense. What makes less sense is my compulsion to change that light bulb the minute it burns out

They're for people like my parents who live in a time-warp old house with red shag carpeting, dark wood paneling, and no overhead lighting. Yeah, we used those lights.

Probably for vacuuming under couches and beds...not that I would know since I only vacuum what is visible to the naked eye.

That little light has actually saved an earring or two from getting sucked up.

J.... I vacuum in the dark.
Ahem, yah... r.i.g.H.t

No um, maybe it is for when vacuuming under beds/sofas etc. so we can see all the dust monsters under there... ?
I have a canister vacuum, so I can go under things.
If I want to, that is.
LMAO.

Oh when I do vacuum under things, even with the light on it... I don't look, I just stick the vacuum under things and it sucks things up! I can even hear, long lost mini pieces of toys... going in there.
To which my kids go "MOMMY DID YOU JUST VACUUM MY TOY?!"
And I say, no... what toy? That's just a piece of old rubbish.

My one on my 1990 Kerby won't work any more. Does that mean I don't have to vaccum anymore?

It works great in rooms that are darker.. also like in corners. Behind furniture.

Also promise you, as you mature and your sight becomes weaker.. you will almost want a headlamp to clean.. You will just not have the same sharp view of the world..

I think it's for vacuuming under the bed, however the vacuum I have now does not fit under the bed and it truly pisses me off.... even to the point where I just might bash in that dumb little useless light :)

This CSI or some other cop show where they are examining a crime scene. They turn on flashlights even when it's daylight outside.

What the beam of light does for the eyes is it helps the eyes to focus on the spot the beam of light makes. The eyes will focus only on that spot when it's lit up. Even if it's daylight.

I noticed them doing that on CSI LV and wondered why in the world they did that. So I tried it when I was hunting for a bracelet, the beam of light from my flashlight made my focus on only that little spot about a hundred times better.

So now I think that when there is a beam of light we focus on the exact area that it lands on. You are looking into that area where the light shines more carefully and deeply than if there was no light at all.

My lights burned out, and I'm not about to fix it.

Plus we have an in-home vacuum system, that oddly needs an electrical outlet next to the vacuum suction plug, and guess what, NO electrical outlets next to it. How stupid was that plan?
