We are looking to go to the Wisconsin Dells this summer. Anybody that has gone there can you tell me where you stayed and if you enjoyed it? Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks!

What can I do next?

We have stayed at the Kalahari (great for older kids...I wouldn't suggest if they are under around 7yrs cause they wont be able to do anything) we have three kids 5yr 3yr and 9mo and we loved staying at the wilderness, we just did in October and it is so friendly for this age range, so much they could do and we could do as adults, there is a good mix of options. I actually have never been to the dells in the summer I do the cheep winter tickets and have all the fun inside, but it is a lot of fun.

KALAHARI!!!! It's the BEST! We've been there multiple times. Something for ALL ages. Our daughter was 2 1/2 the last time we went and she had a GREAT time! Check out their website. We've even had infants with us and they loved the jumpers that hang in the water. They have since added an indoor "theme" park with some fun rides, golf, etc.

We've also stayed at the Chula Vista and HATED it. The water was FREEZING and the water park in itself was tiny.

Your better off staying at a nice water park instead of paying the "daily" admission fee. (It's not a whole lot more to actually pay for the room because then you get FREE admission to the parks.)

We live 20 minutes from the Dells, so I know a lot about the area. It depends on what you're looking for - we've stayed at Kalahari, Mt Olympus, Chula Vista and Great Wolf - they are all great hotel/water park places and so much fun for the kids. If you want something cheaper and off the beaten path check out the places in Lake Delton, Reedsburg, or Baraboo. You can always drive to the Dells and visit the waterparks and other attractions during the day. Feel free to send me a message for more info on anything specific if you want. I'd be happy to let you know about it from a "local's" perspective! :)

We went there last September. There is much more to do during the summer months, but also much more crowded. We were all adults and enjoyed the boat ride on both the upper and lower Dells. Did not see much for kids to do in the fall, but then we did not have any children with us. We camped so I do not have any choices for you as to wear to stay. Goggle it on the internet and am sure you will find a wealth of info to do with a young child. It is an amazing natural phenomenom.

We've stayed in the area a couple of times on our way from MN to IN. I'm interested to see what others suggest, too. It depends on what type of experience you want. I'm assuming you plan to take your family. What are the ages of your kids?

Something to know. There are TONS of hotels with amusement parks/waterparks all over the area. It is typically cheaper to stay south of the Dells in Lake Delton. Also, if you google for hotels, don't believe that it is actually in the Dells even if it says it is. We thought we were getting a hotel off the main strip in the Dells and it was actually in Lake Delton. The lady said it was Google's fault it was like that, but I didn't actually believe her. I would call the hotel and specifically ask where they are located before you book.

We are going to Mt. Olympus in March. We've heard good things about it.

I've never been there, but as a traveler I would suggest looking at tripadvisor.com Regular people like us review hotels, restaurants, things to do, etc. Also, if you're looking for a rental house rather than a hotel, look at cyberrentals.com They are basically a classified ads for rentals, so from private listers.
Have fun!
