Would You Buy?

So I posted something on here before about paying someone to paint your kids rooms with fun themes.
Now I'm Curious. I'm getting full into this "art" business I've been working on. I have a few clients etc.
I had an idea for a few things to start working on.
For Curiosity,
Would you, and how often, do you (or would you) buy custom hand drawn art?
Things like posters of your kids names, graphic art greeting cards, other designs for kids rooms etc
How much would you pay for them?
All would be hand drawn in ink or colors. and be custom, one of a kind designs.

@ Rachel - Funny thing you should say that lol I actually have been designing tattoos for years. I've designed all my siblings work, my own, and a bunch of friends. I just haven't had the chance to actually be a REAL tattoo artist haha

What can I do next?

Great question... and smart of you too to do a little "focus group" here on Mamapedia. I have done and would buy custom hand drawn art. I'm not as big on greeting cards, but wall art and decor items definitely. I especially like original items with my kids' names. As they are unusual names, they never get to buy stuff off the racks at the theme parks. (You know, the little license plates or mugs that say Abigail, Ava, Andrew... my kids' names are never on those things.) I recently purchased a hand drawn pen and ink "portrait" (from a photo) of my grandmother as a gift for my mother. It's small... 5x5, but nicely framed and I paid $80. I thought that was great value and have spread the word for the artist among my friends.

Because I see my kids being fickle and changing their minds constantly I will not do any type of graphics on their walls. It's easier to change comforters and valances then to paint. As far as gaphics for their rooms that's easy. Hard to say how much I'd pay because I am always looking for bargains.

Good luck with your business.

Honestly, the only time I buy stuff like that is at tattoo conventions, from tattoo artists, for no reason other than I love the tattoo flash, old school Sailor Jerry stuff (I'd buy it as wallpaper if I could!) Other than that, all the art I have has been given to me as gifts from my friends who paint/draw. I love having personalized, unique stuff, I just won't pay for it (I know that wasn't what you were looking for, but it's being honest!) Good luck though, let us know how it goes!! I wish I was artsy!! :)

Too bad you're not in VA. I would hire you to teach my daughter. She wants to be an artist and paint murals.

At craft fairs I think I paid $15 for the first letter then maybe $3 to $5 for every letter afterwards.

A five letter name cost me $40 ish. She matted it and I had it framed elsewhere.

I would buy a book of murals you have done then copy them for myself. I feel a blank wall is an invitation to be creative. We're working on a Northwoods theme in my son's room.

I would pay you for art that I can move when we move on canvas or whatever. I would pay you $100-300 to paint a child's table and 4 chairs, depending on details. I would pay you $150 to paint a child's vanity and stool. Also to embellish it with ribbons or whatever on the stool.
