5 Yr Old Behavior at Home and in Kindergarten

We have a 5 yr old grandson whom we have been raising on our own since he was 3. He just started Kindergarten this year and he has been acting out at school ie; throwing chairs when he does not get his way, getting in other students personal space, kicking and pushing while on the playground.... the list does go on.... oh and I sent him to his room on Tuesday and he decided to throw his hamper across his room into the door...... I Have Made Soooooo Many Mistakes as a Parent, Now I Have to Fix It

Moms, I have a 3 year old. I try to be a good parent, kind yet firm, loving and fun. We are easygoing but we do punish for bad behavior. My daughter for the most part has always been loving and sweet, and pretty well behaved. She recently turned 3 and a few weeks ago these awful tantrums began. They are fits of rage. She will completely lose it, scream at me, hit me, kick me, bite me, throw things at me etc. These fits last an hour or more. Once she's calm, she is very apologetic and tells me she is mad at me because I go to work...

Gift Idesa for a Friend with a Special Needs Child

I have a friend who is mother to a beautiful little girl who has quite a lot of mental and physcal issues (MS for one, brain damage at birth, etc.). She is in a wheelchair and requires constant care. She will be turning 4 this year on her birthday and every year I am at a complete loss as to what to get her for her birthday. I was hoping some moms out there could give me some ideas.
