Gift Ideas for a 5 Year Old Girl

Two weeks ago my family moved to a new state. We have only had a chance to meet a couple of our neighbors. One of which invited us to her 5 year old daughter's birthday this coming weekend. She thought it would be a great chance for us to meet the other neighbors. The birthday is a come and go as you please party in their yard. They will also be inviting other neighbors from the surrounding few blocks. I also think this is a great opportunity to become part of our new neighborhood. I have only one child, a 22 month old son, so I have...

Birthday Party for 5 Year Old Girl

Any great ideas for a 5 year old's birthday party? She has mentioned Pump It Up but I'm trying to avoid it, I think! Haven't decided if this will be a boy/girl party or just girls. Thought of having it at a pottery shop that hosts parties - they paint something and then it's fired and delivered later. Not sure if that would be hard for them - delayed gratification and all? Anyone had or been to a great party for this age group lately? I'd love to hear about it!

Need 1St Birthday Theme Suggestions

My daughter's 1st Bday is still a few months away, but I'm a planner and would like to start thinking about her party. My first thought was to do a "Cowgirl" theme, then I though a "Cupcake" theme. Just wanting a few more suggestions that might be really creative or cute in some way. I'd love something that I can do really cute decorations with. I'm not really into the whole "Princess" theme, but do think it's really cute, just looking for something a little more original maybe. Thanks!
