How Do I Know When His Lactose-intolerance Is Better/gone?

My son was/is lactose-intolerant. I understand a lot of babies have a hard time digesting cow's milk and as a nursing momma, I learned to give up dairy for the first 5 months of my son's life. We thought he had collic, until I eliminated dairy and found the protein from the dairy was eating up his poor intestines and causing painful gas. Anyway, I continue to nurse him (he's 8-months now) and I have introduced cheeses, ice cream, etc. back into my diet and he doesn't seem to react much. I have not tried drinking milk yet but would LOVE...

Formula for Gas, Reflux, Constipation in 11 Week Old

Hi all! I started my son on Enfamil Lipil, and changed to Earth's Best Organic because a friend recommended it. He is also on medicine for reflux, he started on Zantac which helped a lot, and now I'm trying Prilosec, but I think the Zantac works better so I'll probably put him back on that. I'm wondering if I should switch him to Nestle Good Start Gentle, because I've read some good things about it. It's supposed to be easier to digest which I think might help with his gas and constipation? I've been giving 1-2 oz. of prune juice daily...

How to Prevent "Poop-xplosions"??

I know that it's fairly common for breastfed babies to have poop leak out of the diaper, but it's happening EVERY day now! I changed to a different size up, thinking that would help. I have a beautiful 4 mo. old daughter, who last week weighed in at 15.5 lbs. I still had her in Pampers Swaddlers, size 1, until a few days ago when they ran out and I now have her in a size 2, same brand. Sometimes it comes out the bottom, sometimes up the back, sometimes out the top/front. Different everytime. Any advice on how to prevent them or better...

14-Month-old Is Constipated

My 14-month-old son is constipated a few times a week. I have been in contact a few times with the pediatrician's office and am doing everything I can. This started when he was switched over from formula to whole milk. Also, he does not drink much water. I am always forcing it on him, but he won't drink much. I give him prunes or blueberries to eat, make his baby cereal with prune juice, give him whole grain foods, etc. I also water down his milk and occasionally put Karo syrup in his milk. He still has problems with constipation. ...

4Yo with Ulcerative Colitis

My 4yo is having a colitis flare up and I was wondering if anyone knew of something to help with the pain. His poor tummy is really hurting him and I don't know what to do. The doctors running other tests to make sure it isn't something else bothering him but he was off his colitis medicine for a week with the tummy flu he just had and I think that is why it is acting up. He's been getting pains so bad he's throwing up so he can't keep his meds down so it keeps getting worse. It's a vicious cycle. If anyone has any advice it would be...

Baby Struggling on Enfamil

I'm curious what you would advise on this. My baby girl will be 7 months old this weekend. Since we are having a difficult time financially, we got WIC help. They give Enfamil in our area. Here's the thing...she originally was on Similac formulas & did fine. When she tried the original & then the gentleease, she started fussing & eating less. Mylicon wasn't helping either. Now she's tried the Lactofree & she's the same way plus spitting up some. The nurse at her ped office said not to worry. Well, I'm not, but my baby girl has...
