Food Idea for Air Travel

My 3 year old daughter has a severe peanut allergy and we are off for an international trip soon, and the flying time, hmmm, over 15 hours. My carry on will not be short of snacks, but does that mean my little girl will go for a day without any hot food? My heart aches just thinking about it. So we need your idea of safe air-travel friendly and "real" food. She likes sandwiches with deli meat/cheese and any type of pasta, but I worry how long I can keep the food without them getting bad, just too risky for such a long flight. Tonight...

Pain Meds. for Labor- What Did You Like?

Hi Moms, I would love a buncha information from you all on what everyone used to relieve the pain of labor (other then an epidural). I am hoping to do a totally unmedicated birth at Poudre Valley Hospital birthing center(doctors and nurses will attend); my mom and many other women who I know have had successful births w/o anesthesia/ pain meds. and I have a doula so I feel positive about this working out...but I started childbirth classes this week and I am getting nervous! I've been thinking about getting a back-up plan prepared;...

Calling Moms of Children with Food allergies....what Is Your School's Epi Policy

Hi Moms: My son has a peanut allergy. Like many of you we carry and Benadryl, epi pen and albuterol inhaler everywhere. No problem, I just carry a bigger bag.:) Here's my question: I signed my 5 year old son up for a very reputable camp this summer. Their allergy response policy is unlike any I have ever encountered. His allergy action plan calls for Benadryl, epi & inhaler in that order if needed. The camp will ONLY administer the epi pen. They will NOT administer Benadryl and he has to self administer the inhaler. I find this to be...

Epi-pen Jr. in an Airport (And Some Liquid Questions)

My 19 month old son has a food allergy and we must carry an epi-pen jr. around with us at all times. Is there any special consideration we have to take when traveling by plane? I can see security claiming that it is a weapon or something like that since there is a needle, but at the same time, it is a rescue medication that is required to be with my son at all times. Also, because my son's food allergy, he usually cannot eat food out. I will be packing him some of his favorites since we will be traveling for breakfast and lunch. Is...

Nervous About Giving 6 Month Old Benadryl

Hi ladies, My six month old has been up with a stuffy nose and coughing for the past two nights. The doctor says she has a viral illness (no ear infection, nothing with the lungs) and suggested we use Benadryl to relieve her symptoms. We want to keep trying what we have been doing (running the humidifier, going into a steamed bathroom, maybe try sleeping in a car seat or with her head elevated, saline drops) before trying the benadryl. Not that I am against medicines, but I am nervous about giving this to her unless she is really...
