Teaching My 4 Year Old to Read.

Hi mama's, My daughter is 4 years old and will attend kinderguarden fall 2011. She is super smart but she doesn't even know how to real atleast one word. I really want to know if there are things I can do that teach her to read. I really want to help her in anyway I can. My fiance said his mom said he was reading before he even got ot kinderguarden. Soon to Be 3 Year Old Doesn't Sleep Thru the Night!!

HELP!!! Our soon to be 3 year old does NOT sleep thru the night and we have tried EVERYTHING to figure out why she is waking up, but have yet to "crack the code." She attends a full day pre-school program 5 days a week (7:00am-3:15pm), she is a fairly good eater (as of the last 2 months), she is not given a lot of junk (one popsical after school, that's it-we won't even let her have yogurt any more because the sugar is so high & we don't know if that contributes to the lack of sleep). 4-Year Old Sleepover with Grandparents

Kindergarten - September 1 Cutoff Date

I have a 4 year-old girl turning 5 next September 11. According to all the information I have read on line, the cutoff date for CPS is September 1, which means she would not get to go to kindergarten until she was almost 6. Emotionally she is not ready at 4, but I think by next year she will be fine. She has gone to daycare since 3 months so is used to being away from home for the day. As far as academically, she knows all her numbers and letters, can write 3 and 4 letter words on her own and has started to read the short words as well....

My son is now 16 months old and is not talking yet. He says a few words, like mommy and daddy and bubba for his baby brother, but that is it.
