Can anyone tell me what the difference is in girls sizes 6x slim and 6 slim??? Would the inseam be the same? The length?

Kim yes i thought so too, i was under the impression 6 x was husky but my daughter can still wear a size 4 uniform skirt and is skinney skinney skinney and i bought her pants this weekend in a 6X slim and they fit her perfect, a bit long but great in the waist...so then i got confused thinking about it and needing to order her a few more pairs then what i found in the stores.

What can I do next?

6x is not husky. It is just the size in between 6 and 7. Sleeves, torso and length are a bit longer. My very slender daughter fit perfectly into this size when she was not quite long enough for a size 7.

The X means longer in the legs. If she was wearing a size 6 but is now too short and the size 7 is too long, then you will want a size 6X. It is great for those in between sizes. For the waist size, they make slim, regular, and husky. The slim is narrow through the waist and hips. My daughter is very slim and wears size 7 slim. With the uniform skirts, watch the waist seam. I have to purchase those that are adjustable to make sure they fit her waist and hips. She can’t really go a size smaller as it is then too short.
I wish they make single sizes for when they are older too. I have always found my kids between the 10-12s and the 14-16s. Even sizes are better.

This sounds like a question about pants or jeans? I belive slim refers to the style of pant, probably narrow all the way through.

The 6-6x distinction is a matter of "largeness." The X is literally a plus size. But it has nothing to do with obesity or anything. It is just that some kids are transitioning to preschooler (baby) to big kid and in this size, there are a lot of kids still built like "babies" with baby fat, who haven't slimmed out yet. Sort of like a 3T versus a 3. At least that is my understanding. I think the length and inseam would be the same.

I worked in a children's clothing store for years. 6x is just the next size up from 7. Why? I have no idea. It never made sense to me either.

6x slim seems like an oxymoron. I was always under the impression that the X indicated husky.

I agree that the 6x is inbetween 6 and 7. The legs are slightly longer. It has nothing to do with "plus" sizes. those are included in the slim reg and plus size catagories. My daughter like yours is extremely slim and currently in 6x slim with an adjustable waist. (cannot wear regular waists cause they would fall down)

6X is just a little bigger, but not quite as large as size 7. Its like a 6.5!

6x is a slightly larger size than a 6.
