We get these cans delivered from a medical supply company every month. They have therapeutic strength liquid nutrition, like Ensure but much more complete than what is in the grocery stores. We have hundreds of them at a time. But since they're not labeled for individual resale, they don't seem to have any stamp or imprint on them that would tell me if they could be recycled or redeemed. Is there a way to tell if a can can be turned into a redemption center? They're a lot more substantial than a soda can, and they're 8 ounces each. By the way, we don't have recycling available at the apartment complex we live in, so I would bag them and bring them somewhere, I guess. I'm just wondering if there's something better than just throwing them in the dumpster. Thank you!

You could try posting on Freecycle or Craigslist. If they can be redeemed, someone might be willing to pick them up and take them to a recycling center for the money.
You can call your local garbage and recycling center. Even if they can't be redeemed for $, you could always save and take them to the recycling center rather than sending them to the landfill in the trash.
This might also be a good time to talk to the managers at your apartment complex about making a recycle bin available. It might cost them a few extra dollars for the service, but they might also save money if that reduces the amount of regular garbage they pay to have picked up each week.
If they're metal, similar in form as cans in which food is canned then they're recyclable. Call the place to which you'd take them and ask to be sure. You can find their phone number on line by googling "recycle in Denver CO" if you don't know the name of it. You can also call or google your garbage pick up site. In Portland, the city has recycling information on their web site.
I think I know what kind of cans you are talking about. There are only a few different types of can drinks are packaged in and if it's metal, it's recyclable. Metals are all melted down. Check to see if you city picks up recyclables. All the cities in our area now have a recycling program and they may come pick it up or drop it off at the city yard. Honestly, if you are going to go through all the trouble, take it to a recycling place or call the local school to see if the kids are doing a recycling project like our school is. I usually drop cans in our recycling bin but once a year I just bag it all up and drop it off in front of the school and they go recycle it for money for the student garden.
Please please do not put them in the dumpster, meds in dumspers cause polluted lands and water as well as many other thing.
Take them to a Pharmacy to discard of for you! Most will take them. Or contact your counties Health and Environment dept and ask them, they too will waht to do with them!!
As a cub scout leader I can think of many uses for those cans! Maybe you could give them to a local pack? Or use Craigslist and give them away for free, crafters might want them.
Our recycling is handed by the South Oakland County Recycling Association. We are fortunate in that they do pickups the same day as the trash hauling. You're in colorado. I would call the city and ask them if there is a resource that can help. I can't agree more about not dumping them in a landfill to polute the land and the water table. I also commend you for your efforts. I have a friend at work and everytime she tosses an empty waterbottle into the regular trash it makes me cringe!! :-) S.
