I will be returning to work soon (in May or June) and would like to know if there are ANY jobs that will even hire someone to work 4 hours a day. Or I could babysit or help someone with an at home daycare or will a daycare even hire me? I have been looking for something at home but nothing good comes up. I am not looking to start a business or anything. I just want to maybe do what I mentioned above of if someone needs help filling out paperwork online I could do that. Any suggestions or ideas would be great. Thanks

Hi E. H.
Lots of work at home businesses are not worth your time but I've found one that works... a diamond in the rough. We work together in a great and supportive group of women. It may or may not be for you but check it out at www.brightworkingwomen.com.
Best,
K.
I got really lucky finding a job like that. Basically I do some administrative work for an acting coach. Perhaps you could just try calling a few places to see if they need help. Try to find really small (one person) businesses that are likely to need just a few extra hours help. Sometimes people need help just filing, making copies, etc. Good luck.
Hi E.,
I work from home and would love to share with you exactly what it is that I do, with my 16 month old daughter right along side me! We don't have to sell anything, host parties, etc. You could really do the job in your PJ's, without ever leaving your home AND without having to put your child in daycare.
At least we can chat and you can decide if it would be a good fit for you and your family.
I just left a daycare center and they would work with many various schedules. The only thing about working four hours there, is that would want you to come in the afternoon versus in the morning. So, a daycare is a good place to get a couple hours. Also, you might want to try at a fitness center that offers childcare and they would have hours maybe that suit your needs. Hope it all works out
Do you have any office skills?
Alot of Drs. tend to work out of more than one office. Some mornings they'll work in Plano & then go to Richardson in the afternoon. And they'll hire morning/afternoon help. Plus if they have offices open on Saturdays those are normally open for 3-4 hours.
I telecommute full-time, but I think there are jobs out there for you to find at home or part time. I've had several neighbors who worked out of a home office that had help come in a few hours a days each day or a few days, each week to do administrative work.
I have someone too, so I don't need anyone right now. But put your resume up on-line and maybe someone like that will find you.
However, I always find my assistants from word of mouth, like Mamasource, because you want someone that's not a total stranger to work for you in the home.
Maybe you should list your main qualifications here, so if someone knows someone they can refer you.
Mamasource is a great site. I lost my last assistant to a job posted on mamasource (I even told her about it!) and I have a new assistant now, so I don't need one. But you never know who's looking.
I have been looking for a part time nanny in the afternoons for my boys. I can't be the only one looking for someone half days. There are several nanny services that you may want to talk to. The parents pay the fee for a nanny service. All of the parents require a background check, and most of the parents request a drug screen.
Good luck!
E.,
You should look into a Mother's Day Out program. They have part time hours like you might be looking for. Also, some preschools need just morning or afternoon floaters. Also some need lunchtime coverage for a few hours. Check into it - they are always hiring!
