So I decided to no longer take my daughter to get vaccinated after much research, thought and prayer. She is going to be starting school this fall. How do I approach the dr? How did you? Walk-in, fax, etc?
You are right! I should have paid better mind. I dont have to have the dr. sign it for "personal beliefs". Thank you so much for being willing to answer!
Good for you. I staggered vaccines.....if that helps otherwise I don't believe you need to get a doctor to sign it.
I didn't have to have the doc sign ours, there is a line for "religious" reasons and I just checked that. Good luck and GOOD JOB!!!!
In my state, a Dr. does not have to sign. It only requires you check an exemption and sign. Do you have the form already, or are you waiting on it? I've never heard of a Dr. having to sign off!!
I have "opted out" of some vaccines and all I had to do was fill out some paper work. You have to deal with some raised eye brows at times, but usually everyone plays nice and doesn't say anything= ) We have gone very slowly with vaccines with our youngest. He is on the Autism spectrum and my sis has kiddo's on the spectrum as well, all of her kids are vaccinated, but on an altered schedule as well.
Ask the school what paperwork you need. At my kids school, we automatically get the paperwork with the packets for enrollment and if we're not doing vacs, we just tick off the box and mark down why such as religious reasons, personal, etc. I have no idea how it works for AZ, but I've never had to approach a doc about it for the schools at all. Going vacs free can hard at times, but for those that have made the choice, it's worth it. My kids are vacs free and every once in a while, depending on the doc they see, I might have to endure a small lecture about it, but for the most part after seeing that I haven't updated the shot records in several years and asking me if I want to change that, I just say no and they drop it. It's certainly a choice I made over night either. I did a lot of research and prayer before decided that's the way to go for my family and so far, it's worked out well. Good luck!
In my state, at least for daycare (and its a state form, so I assume its the same needs for school), you need to do a small portion for opting out of vaccinations, and no Dr needs to be involved, but it does need to be notarized. That can easily be done as a service provided at your bank, perhaps? I know at our bank its a free service if you hold an account there.
I do home daycare, so I deal with this form for every single child and have had a few in my 14 years opt out or mostly do the alternate vaccine scheduling.
I don't believe you have to have a dr. sign. If you want help with this, become a fan of Dr. Tenpenny on facebook, and post this question. You will get the right answers there, and you will stay updated on the dangers of vaccines and know how you can keep your rights to not vaccinate.
Are you sure the doctor needs to sign the paperwork? In my state, the parent signs and doesn't have to say why they're asking for an exemption.
However, if I had to approach the doctor, I'd simply call and tell the receptionist that I needed the doctor to sign our exemption form, and that I'd be dropping it off on x day. Then I'd ask when I could pick it back up. I don't think you need a conversation with the doctor... it's not like you're asking advice.
