The radio station was joking about the two other calls. The first one was real - it happened in my state and was all over the news - but if the other two actually happened we would have heard it here. Those are clearly jokes.
Ya'll probably heard about the couple that got lost in a maze with their 3 week old baby and called 911 for someone to come find them? They ended up being only like 25 feet from the exit with lights at the exit. Ever heard the expression "go towards the light"? LOL....anyways, okay, as silly as that may have been I can give them the benefit of the doubt you know. They paniced and had a small baby with them. I get that. But according to the local radio station here they reported that the same couple had called 911 two more times. One, because they were on an escalator and it stopped. So instead of walking down or up it, they called 911 to have someone come "rescue" them. If that isn't enough, the second time (the radio station did play the recorded 911 call on this one), the couple was at a park with their baby and the dad called 911 because they locked their baby in the car. He tells the dispatcher, "I hope they hurry because it looks like it's getting ready to rain and we have the top down on the convertible!" Have ya'll heard about this? I told my husband if this is really true, they are either really really really stupid or this was all a joke they pulled. Possibly trying to get media attention or something. If this really happened, I surely hope they were fined for calling 911 for both of those times. I just thought I would share this with you all. Like I have said, I don't know if it's true or not but I wouldn't be surprised if it was. There are too many people out there who do crazy stuff for attention and there are those that are truly just challenged in the common sense department.

They were in the maize 3 minutes before calling 911 according to one article. The police arrived 9 minutes after the paid for their admission.
I doubt that it's real. First of all, it would take some doing and a little time for the police department to come up with "all calls made to 911" from a particular number and being in the criminal defense arena, I can tell you that the police department is not going to waste their time searching for these phone calls so a radio station can use them for entertainment. So, no I don't think they are so stupid, but anyone who thinks for a moment that either one of these calls is for real, well that person may not be so bright!
OMG, they're breeders too, & they walk among us!
Just so none of us ever have to call 911 to get us out of a maze, remember to always keep your right hand on the wall. This will always get you out (even if it takes a while).
True-people stuck in maze.
False-Other 2 were the radio stations making jokes.
Corn mazes usually have someone in a tower to direct you out. They're stupid. If they give up that easily, heaven help their child because parenting is hard.
Radio stations are always doing funny "news stories." Surely it's fake. If not, I am seriously worried about the future of humanity! LOL
I meet/run in to jackasses all day and usually everyday. Its inevitable. :)
LOL - THE CONVERTIBLE?!! That made me scare the baby I laughed so loud.
I heard one on the radio. This woman was freaked out and called her local AAA to help her get out of her car. She was panicked...the doors had locked and her unlock button wasn't working!! How was she going to get out!!! The lady on the phone said, "can you just manually unlock it?" The woman hung up the phone. LOL
L.
I read the corn maze article when it happened. They were only in the maze for 20 minutes!! Wow.
Mostly, people just lack any kind of common sense. I have come to realize it's quite rare for people to have a good amount of common sense.
Actually, people do get lost in those huge corn mazes. And 25 feet from the exit could still have included a couple of blind turns. My very clever daughter and son-in-law spent 2.5 hours trying to find their way out of one last year with their 4yo son. They didn't realize that a map/list of clues was available at the entrance (because in previous years, people had gotten lost). They did finally find their way out, but were tired and anxious by then.
But the other stories sound like some promotional team's invention to get listeners to laugh. Even the "recorded" 911 call could easily have been pulled off in a studio with recording equipment.
Yes, people can be that stupid, I work with one. I can believe the maze story but not the escalator or car. I can see a radio station making jokes.
Someone was texting and walked right into the street without looking. This school bus turns in and is right on top of him and he doesn't even notice until the bus honks and he just looks up and goes about texting as he slowly gets out of the street. How can you not feel a big bus right behind you.
.
if all three calls are true then the joke is on us. I don't believe people are that stupid.
They will likely get fined, assuming all are true, but I doubt they are. Seriously, the convertible thing slays me. I wonder if they know where babies come from? I have heard so many dumb police calls, my fav is the lady who called police b/c a restaurant screwed up her hamburger order.
There are a LOT of stupid people out there, to be sure!
But I think the 2nd and 3rd stories you noted are just jokes--or let's hope so!
I have a friend, "S", who is SO stupid and gullible, you wouldn't believe it. I believe about 1 third of the information that comes from her. And question half of that! It's a big joke with all of us. But she doesn't see it at all!
I am hoping the radio station made up the other 2 calls, but than again maybe they didnt!
You just never know with some people. Here some idiot on a bike ran into a big red city bus a few weeks ago...because he didnt see it.. How does one miss a big, red, smelly, noisy bus while on a bike????
Oh I didnt hear about the car but yes about the maze, and now that I heard about the car and escalator all sympathy ran out the top of the convertible and I hope they do get a fine. There is no excuse for that kind of stupidity. One parent maybe not 2
I wouldn't be surprised if it was real. Some people just automatically panic, they don't think first.
Well, yes, I firmly believe many people are pretty stupid. But I dont' believ ewha t you heard on te radio. Must have been satire.
Wow - if all three of those 911 calls were true, this couple should be in an assisted living facility and the baby adopted out to another more capable and responsible loving couple.
The only thing I can think of if they had a low gas tank.
