I switched to Mountain Midwifery around 24 weeks (from Boulder Women's Care) because I wanted personal, individual attention during my first pregnancy. I was so impressed by Tracy Ryan and the level of care that I received. Each appointment with her lasted about 1 hour (compared to 15-20 minutes elsewhere). She is a very confident and competent midwife. I was on track to deliver at the center until we found out that my son was breach. Unfortunately, midwives cannot deliver breach babies in the state of CO, but luckily the doctor that backs up Tracy in emergency situations (Dr. Michael Hall at Swedish) does deliver breach babies. So, without going into the full details of the situation, Tracy ended up being my doula at Swedish instead of my midwife. Luckily, I was still able to have a vaginal delivery without drugs, so it was kind of close to what the delivery would have been like at the midwifery center. I highly recommend Tracy and Mountain Midwifery and intend to go there again with any future pregnancies. Best of luck to you!!
