Black and Gold Snack - Last Minute!

I just checked my sons backpack and realized it's his turn to bring the snack tomorrow. I also learned that it's a Steeler pep rally day and everyone is to wear black and gold. There will be a party with football/Steelers themed activities. Does anyone have an idea of what I can bring for snack that is black and gold or Steeler themed? There are 16 kids, and I don't have time to bake at this point. They do encourage healthy snacks, but maybe tomorrow could be an exception. I know it doesn't have to be a Steelers snack, but if you've got any ideas for that it would be awesome! Thanks!

What can I do next?

I would get the original Gold Fish crackers and I think they have chocolate ones too. If not, chocolate Teddy Grahms are close in size. Mix them into one container.

gold fish crackes were the first thing i thought of, too bad you couldn't serve them in steeler cupcake liners (not sure if they make those)

Regular Oreos and Vanilla (gold colored) Oreos??? Can't think of anything healthy sorry.

OHHHHH how about mixing up some rice krispie treats and shaping them like little footballs? You could use chocolate rice krispies and pipe white icing on for the strings. or threads or what ever they call those white lines.
I"m sure if you have an Eat-n-Park they would have steeler smiley cookies still not super healthy but oh well. Or just chiips and salsa?
good luck!

You could make a trail mix or chex mix or something, pretzels/nuts/raisins/dried fruit/chocolate chips. Put it in clear little baggies and tie with a black and gold ribbon. Healthy, put yummy and black and gold, and no baking.

Oreos and the cheddar kind of string cheese?

It is last minute but I work in a grocery store and if you call your local store tonight and put in your order I am almost positive the bakery can whip you up some black and gold cupcakes in this short amount of time...easy...my store could do it!

Bananas and raisins?

That's all I got...my 'Mommy Brain' has had it already today :)

I can not think of anything black and gold but here is a quick and easy one for you
preheat oven 350
2cups bisquick mix
1cup milk
1can Veg All (mix veggies)
3-4 hot dogs diced
1cup of shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Mash the can of drained Veg All, add to the bisquick and milk then dump in the hot dogs and cheese take 1/2 cup scooper and place on baking sheet lined with foil bake for 30 min they are GREAT!!! I would suggest two batches for a classroom. You can bring in dipping sauces like Sweet n Sour, Kastup, Mustard or BBQ sauce. Kids taste the biscuit, cheese and hot dog and TOTALLY MISS the VEGGIES! awesome

How about a mix of goldfish and black liccorice? Would the school allow the liccorice?

Another idea - black grapes (if you can find it) and goldfish. Have fun!

M&Ms makes specific colored ones...they sell them at party stores and craft places (or places where you would get wedding or shower stuff). Make a Gorp mix or something with them.

To add to MissouriMK's answer...
Make Fruit Kabobs with skewers of pineapple, Black Grapes (S.'s has them right now), Blueberries, maybe some golden apples, or melon. Then you can make a super easy fruit dip.

1 (part) whipped cream cheese in the tub
1 (part) yogurt (in this case I would use vanilla bean and color it with yellow food coloring)
1/2 (though you can use the whole thing) marshmallow cream
Blend until smooth and refridegerate.

It got some little plastic ramikins from McDonalds and filled them up with individual dips for each child. I make the kabobs on skewers, and then bought the long treat bags in the party section of Wal-Mart so that each kabob is individually wrapped.

The dip is awesome, healthy, and simple.

Or how about black and gold jellos and puddings?

~~~~~
Local bakeries probably have a ton of black and gold cupcakes and cookies.
~~~~~

Or even an ice cream cake from Culvers, Dairy Queen, or ColdStone decorated with black and gold jimmies or sprinkles?

Probably too late, but they do make Steeler tortilla chips that are black and gold... those are a little bit ealthier than cupcakes or whatever (but I'm hoping they'd make an exception for the pep rally!) and very easy... Try Giant Eagle if you have one nearby, make Shop and Save has them but not sure...

my suggestion was going to be rice krispie treats, using cocoa krispies and maybe adding food coloring to the marshmallows to get the "gold" in there.

you might be able to find a football-shaped cookie cutter at michael's or pat catan's, and you could use it on slices of brick cheese, and send that with crackers. it's not really black/gold, but football themed.

if all else fails, the bakery at Giant Eagle is overflowing with black & gold stuff right now, it will always do the trick.

have fun, GO STEELERS!!!
