I am curious if there is any mom's in the Johnson County area that are interested in meeting for a mom's night out or luncheon? I will be home all summer with my girls, and I don't know about other mom's... but I am going to need a break.
I think if we could meet some other mom's and their children, it could offer us a resource. I am willing to help other moms who need someone to watch their little one's. I guess it would be like friends with benefits. Its nice to have someone to talk to as well.

For those of you who knew about my injury... I wanted to give you an update. The second week in May I started having a rather uncomfortable pain in my hip and leg. I thought I had pulled a muscle. As it turns out, I have a fracture in my left hip. I have been under the doctors care for some time. I began with crutches and have since graduated to a walker.. yes a walker. I had to be hospitalized for 4 1/2 days. I recently went in for a follow up and was told that pins would have to put in the femoral neck of my hip to stablize it. Apparently, I have the early on set of Osteoporosis at 31 years young. Needless to say, I have been a little down in the dumps. I really could use a low key evening out with some of you moms... so if you are still interested, I would love to get together. Dancing is out for me... but a dinner and drinks sounds very good.

Hello. I just moved to the Overland Park area from MA. I had just started looking at the Mamasource website and it looks terrific. I would have loved to have joined you in the gathering tomorrow, but I have to be at home to await the delivery of furniture. I think that's a good idea. I live in Olathe (Reserve at Stratton Oaks). I have 2 older kids (13,17). It's always fun to meet people in the area. We lived here until a little over a yr ago and are back again. So, new to the area, sorta.

I'm Zack Malone's mom and I think a Mom's night out or something of that nature sounds wonderful! As the mother of three boys(8,5, and 16 months), I don't get out a lot and I definitely have a hard time meeting people. It's like pulling teeth to get a "date night" with my husband! We actually get to go to the lake this weekend "sans" children, so it will be a nice(greatly needed break)but I have the entire summer to deal with wonderful sibling rivalry. I am 30 year old, and I have a 9 month old who is walking and very independent. We go out to lunch and dinner on the weekends. Sometime her father joins us, but usually it's just us two. I take her everywhere, we have been to an Arena football game, Cinco De Mayo festival, and the circus. I know she is young, but she is very obedient in public, and she enjoys it, because she likes to see different things and she laughs at people who talk to her. But it would be nice to get a break and share motherhood with another adult, besides her father. My email address is ____@____.com.
I also love a good laugh and I like making other people laugh. "Life is like a roller coaster ride, screaming, crying, laughing, until it makes you feel sick". But you wouldn't mine doing it all over again.
