Hi Mamas!
I bought several Bummis super whisper wraps in May and 5 months later the velcro won't stay closed on them. The simple action of my son walking around will cause the velcro to come undone and the wraps to fall off. Does anyone know of anything I can do to get the velcro to work again? Has anyone else had this problem?
Thanks!

I second the cleaning! I took a pair of those tiny scissors (the curved ones that sell near nail clippers)and just ran it through the loops on the grippy side of the velcro. Made them good as new! They didn't even look that "clogged", but I pulled lots of lint, hair, fibers out of them.

Also, they might just be getting small. I have had several Bummis wraps that I've never cleaned that held for months and months, through two kids.

I had that problem when my boys were too wide for some of their cloth diapers, are the tabs out near his hips? If that's the issue then he'd need a bigger size (or more generous sized type) or thinner inserts.

You can also run by Pacific Fabrics (or other fabric store) and pick up some new vecro for a couple bucks. Then you've got the sew it or glue it option. Just snip the threads on the old velcro and pull them off, and sew or glue (or both) the new ones on.

Check the pokey side of the velcro. It tends to be a collector of fuzzies, lint, etc. I keep it clean with a safety pin. Just push it through the velcro (horizontally) and pull up. You'll be surprised how much you can get out. Takes awhile, but worth it. Also, keep the velcro closed when it's not being used, especially in the laundry.

You can clean the velcro. The part with the little hooks has to be cleaned from hair or cottons that gathers there. If this doesn't work just change it. Good luck@!

i 'clean out' the velcro occasionally by removing any stray threads and fluff that get in there. I also try to keep them closed during laundry, etc. It helps some - they're still not as secure as i'd like, and one reason i got some snap closure diapers.
