Hi Mommies!
Have any of you made a candy pizza? Someone made one for me a long time ago that my son just loved. I'm pretty sure the crust was not cookies or rice krispies. If you have a recipe you really like, please share it with me. I've been looking on the web but haven't found what I need so I thought I'd ask you. Thanks so much!

Hi P.,

My mom used to make a great candy/bar/cookie thing that we called chocolate pizza. The crust was actually pillbury crescent dough that you rolled out and carefully pressed out to fit the cookie sheet. Then the "sauce" was a brown sugar and butter mix, the "cheese" was chocolate chips and the other toppings were usually chopped nuts sprinkled on the top. The crust you needed to bake after pressing out for about 10 minutes. Then you spooned the caramel on after you combined the brown sugar and butter on the stove. Spinkled chocolate chips and nuts on top. I remember that for the second part, after she put the "sauce, cheese, topping" on it went back into the oven for another 5-10 minutes and then went it came out you would need to move the chocolate chips around with the back of a spoon a bit so that they chocolate would combine a bit with the caramel. We were a caramel loving family so we didn't over-do it on the chocolate chips but this was fabulous. As I am writing this I am thinking to myself why the heck haven't I made this in a long time. It used to be a favorite. I hope you find the recipe you were looking for...but I wanted to share this one...Ahh good memories. V

They are easy and fun to make.

You need:
foil pizza pans
melting chocolate (sorry - can't remember how much per pizza)- milk for the base, colors for the top
candy for the "toppings" - raisins, M&Ms, cashews, pretzels, PB chips, some type of mints - experiment with lots of themes
sprinkles - not the sugary kind, the long, skinny ones
Pyrex measuring cups - both the one cup sizes for the colors and the large (8 cup?) for the base chocolate

Then, it's really easy. You just melt the base chocolate and pour it into a pizza pan. Sprinkle in the toppings and let the whole thing cool. Drizzle on the color chocolate and the sprinkles while the chocolate is still wet.

It seems there are alot of ideas on a candy pizza. The one I have a resipe for is a brownie mix on the bottom. You make the mix as directed on the box. Then you spread it into a pizza pan and bake for 15-20 min. Spinkle it with your candy toppings (mini marshmellows, butterscotch chips, m&ms- whatever you want) then drizzle melted chocolate over the top. My favorite recipe has become a black forest "pizza" which is brownie with cheesecake mixing and cherries. yum! Feel free to send me a message for a more detalied recipe on the black forest.

Also, wanted to warn you. My MIL called yesterday and told me that pyrex has a lawsuit going on, because their dishes have been exploding. I guess pyrex sold their company a couple years ago to another company and they changed the "recipe" they made their dishes with and people have been burned/hurt because of the dishes exploding. She said to find out information about it you go to google and search complaints about pyrex!

The crust can be melted chocolate. We put greem M&M's for peppers, coccunut for cheese, nuts as garlic and so on. Lastly, I have had the kids drizzle white chocolate on the top.
