A couple of years ago I got a fabulous dinner from Vons. It was cost effective, and easy to heat up.
We are having Christmas Dinner at our home for the first time this year. However my husband wants to have it prepared from another store, rest, caterer, etc... Any recommendations or suggestions? Any places to avoid? We are thinking turkey or prime rib type meal. Thank you.
Thank you to all who responded to my dinner request. We actually went with Claim Jumper and let me tell you. It was AMAZING. We ordered the meal to feed 12. 15 people arrived and there was still tons of food after the meal. Everyone ate seconds and truly raved about the food. I could not believe it. And nothing was left out. The turkey was fresh and juicy and easy to carve. The roasted vegetable were colorful and the salad was fresh. The sweet potatoes melted in our mouth. They provide ALL of the condiments.... real butter, gravy (2 types), brown sugar, parmesan. dressings, salt/pepper, chives, and etc...... The only thing that might be a disappointment is the pies are the store bought frozen. If you prefer fresh bakery pies that will be a disappointment. It was for us, until we bit into them. The apple is out of this world. Thank you!!!!

Mimi's or even your local grocery store. Good luck!
S.! this is a great idea, our family has been doing it for Thanksgiving for the last few years. We have used Marie Calendar's and Claim Jumper. Both are great. Be advised, however, you will still have to allow about 30 minutes prep time to warm everything up.....but it is so worth it!!!! Enjoy, happy holidays!
I've used Bristol Farms before and loved it. You can see what they have online. It's easy to pick up and super easy to heat up when you're ready to eat.
Honeybaked Ham is always yummy too! If you mention "lowest prices is 7 years" you get a discount!
Claim Jumper does a great meal!
I have had the most luck/best taste with Stater Brothers for the Prime Rib. Their Turkey meal is good too. Vons is another safe option, but we were not as happy with the Prime Rib as with Stater Brothers. Also if you don't mind spending a bit more Marie Callender's has a nice turkey meal (don't think they do the prime rib). You should order quickly though and pick-up the day before as long as you have the room. -L. (Long Beach)
I agree with the Claim Jumper like the others but also what about Honeybaked Ham store. I always get their ham and it is wonderful, I am sure there other stuff would be great to.
I just had a turkey dinner prepared by Ralph's grocery store last night... It was amazing. The turkey was very moist, and it came with a ton of side dishes that were all delicious. My sister said it was about $100 for 8 people.
Good Luck
