Daughter Wants to Go Horseback Riding

My ten year old daughter experienced horseback riding at her summer camp last year. Since that time she has asked us repeatedly to take her riding again. Her birthday will be approaching and I thought that might be a great time to take her on a family outing to help celebrate. I am looking for a stable in the West Michigan area where we can take her on a trail for about an hour. They would have to have horses that are gentle and great for beginners and riders with no experience. Does anyone know of such a place?

What can I do next?

There is a nice ranch down by Gun Lake. I don't have the name off hand but I have been there before. I'm planning a trip with my daughter in the fall

I'm not sure of the cost or packages, but I know that you can go horseback riding at the Double JJ Resort in Rothbury (North of Muskegon, South of Ludington). They have horses and trails for all levels of experience. You can contact them at 1-800-DOUBLEJJ.

It seems to me I saw an ad for a horse ranch somewhere in Allegan. I saw it on Craigs List. It could have been listed either under Grand Rapids or Kalamazoo, I'm sorry I don't remember which one. Good luck to you.
