Is this a kid friendly town? ARE there things to do for kids?
Would you reccomend driving to a another town? Looking for a a resort/hotel with a kitchen and some space for our active 2 yr old also.
Thanks for your help mamas!

Hi, I don't really have a suggestion for you on where to go. But my husband was just in Denver for a week for work, and he said NO it's not really a kid friendly town. I would do a google search for kid friendly activities in the nearby areas. Good luck & I hope you have a great trip!

Butterfly Pavilion, Denver Zoo, Downtown Aquarium, The Children's Museum, Six Flags Elitch's, the play area at the Cherry Creek Mall, the play structure at Washington Park, the public library downtown, Museum of Science and Nature, Red Rocks Amphitheater, the Colorado Railroad Museum (if your kids are into trains at all, this is a must!), ice-skating at DU Ritchie Center, Heritage Square in Golden, Downtown Golden, Coors Brewery (for the grownups!). THEN there's all the stuff you can do up in the mountains. Denver and the surrounding areas are VERY kid friendly. We lived there for 13 years. My oldest was almost 12 and my youngest was almost 7 when we moved. Every summer, I would make a list of all the things we wanted to do that summer in and around Denver. In all those years, we never completed everything we wanted to do. I'm jealous you get to go visit. Colorado's awesome. Have fun!!

We lived there for four years. The aquarium and the butterfly pavillion are next door to each other. I definitely recommend the aquarium. I wish we had one where we live so I could take my kids. But, are you planning on only staying in Denver? It would be a shame to go to Colorado and stay in Denver only. You would miss all the mountains! Mt. Evans and Pikes Peak are nearby. Estes Park isn't too far and is a really neat little town at the foot of Rocky Mountain National Park which is great. I would suggest you venture farther into the mountains. Remember, Denver is not the mountains, it's just near them.

Ohmigosh is it kid friendly!!! If you're flying in for work and hanging out in Lodo then it would seem like a party town, but oh let me tell you there are almost too many things to do here for kids!!! All the below suggestions on places to go are spot on.

For events on the particular days you plan on being here check this site:

They have several towns really close by with alpine slides and cool parks etc. You can also drive up Mount Evans. Have fun!

Ther are lots of neat parks in the area or nearby cities (10-20 minutes). There is a very cool place your 2 year old would love called Butterfly Pavillion. Not sure what city it's in but it's within 30 minutes. Google it for more info. The Denver Zoo is nice and a museum is nearby (I think a natural History and Science museum). Not sure if your 2 year old is ready for the museum though.

Hi! I just recently got back from estes Park Colorado.. and it was AMAZING. I loved it there so much. We did have a lot of trouble getting my son ( 9 months at the time) to adjust though. Estes park is so neat.. downtown there are just tons of little shops and all kinds of good food and such. They have a fun place where there are go carts.. giant slide.. putt putt.. those kinds of things.. as well as a lift that takes you up on a mountain where you can feed ground squirrels and such. It's a really great family friendly place. I have never been to Denver.. so i can't really compare.. but Estes Park is amazing. :) Have fun!

Go to their State's website... most states have a website for "tourist."

Google Search "Colorado Tourism website."
