Hi just wondering my family and i are going to disney this weekend (magic kingdom) and well i saw that its $14 to park, i thought that is ridiculous and was wondering if anybody knew another way to avoid that fee, maybe parking some where else, any advice would be great, oh and we don't have passes its just 1 day tickets.

You can park for free at Downtown Disney and take the bus to the theme park. You may have to wait a while for the bus, though, and it might make other stops so I don't know if the money you save would be worth chopping time off of your one day in the Magic Kingdom-- plus I'm not sure if you know how to get to DT Disney and where to catch the buses (it's behind the House of Blues/Cirque d'Solel), so it may take time in your day trying to find it. You can also hitch a ride (bus, boat, or monorail) from any Disney owned hotel or resort, but most of them have a guard who will question you when you pull up. If you have breakfast at the restaurant at the hotel you could probably get away with it... but of course breakfast would be more than the $14 you are trying to save!! I say bite the bullet and pay the $14, but that's just my opinion. If you do want to do a character breakfast and splurge, there is one called Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort, and then it's a very short zip over to the Magic Kingdom by monorail. Call ahead and get a reservation.

Gotta pay it, unless your hotel offers a free shuttle. I think it's worth it to be in control of when you arrive/leave, if you don't mind driving.

I have to agree with Ree. Any other ways around it would be too much of a pain to off-set saving the $14. And I totally agree that parking fees are beyond outrageous!

Gosh we pay $20 at Great America to park. I think $14 sounds pretty good. I don't know any way around it actually. I did see one mom mention downtown disney, but the parking spaces there are limited so you might not even get one. I'd say just add the $14 onto your day and think how much you're saving by not staying on the property in a hotel! ;-)

Actually, compared to the prices we've had to pay at various parks, I don't think $14 is that bad, considering it's Disney and everything is overpriced.

My family and I will be there this weekend/week too! Yay for Disney! (Even if the cost to park a car is really high!)
