Do you ever feel like, you just want to wake them up so you can hug them one last time for the night? And possibly NEVER let them go? I feel like that right now (as I do sometimes), I want to go in her room, pick her up and just hold her tight...for a really long time. But, I don't want to wake her, so, I just sit and imagine it happening ;)
Do you ever feel like that?
I love my daughter (3.5 years) more than life itself, but honestly, I am so happy when she finally goes to sleep after pushing my buttons and talking my ear off all day, I don't dare wake her! I'm sorry if that sounds terrible, but I enjoy my peace and quiet knowing she's happy and safe in her own bed. I will go in though sometimes after she's asleep just to steal a peek and give her a little kiss on the head.

I was telling this same story to a friend over the weekend. I would be waiting for them to take a nap or go to bed at night then, within minutes, I would be ready for them to wake-up so I could hug/kiss/play with them :)

I do feel like that! Especially when I was angry at them at bedtime. When I feel like that, I either go in and give them a light kiss or I crawl in bed with them and snuggle up close. They stir but usually don't actually wake up. It is very sad to feel this way so go in and hug and kiss her! :o)

I"m happy to get even a little sleep, so not really!! Maybe, when he's older and we all get more consistent sleep, I will feel the same. Right now, not so much.

Yes, I do...
My daughter is 9 now and we've been mostly cosleeping since the beginning. She just decided a few days ago on her own that she will sleep in her own bed (she and I still share a room). Even though the part of me that needs a good night's sleep without her taking up more and more of the bed is happy, the part of me that has enjoyed snuggling at night with my little girl is a bit sad.
She's growing up so fast it is just amazing. I still treasure all the hours of nursing her and napping with her as a baby. Now she's 3/4ths my size!

No! I like them sleeping, its my only break! My husband does though, goes in just to watch them sleep. I think thats because he's not home with them all day.

Yes!!! My husband was out talking to our next door neighbor last night. She has two children ages 25 and 23 who still live at home. One has a full time job and the other is in college. They want to move out but she doesn't want them too! She said it seems like just yesterday they were in diapers. It made me want to cry because that'll be me someday!

All the time! Every night I want to do that---even though I am emotionally and physically exausted from playing and answering questions all day! :) I still love to sit on my children's beds and give them massages or sing to them when they are sleeping, go and make sure they are breathing--- and of course I want to give them another hug and kiss!!! But at the end of the day I know they are soooo tired, so I let them sleep.... Sometimes, I do pick them up and hold them for awhile while they are sleeping.

yep! Sometimes I will pick our 16mo old up and just hold him. Luckily he's a deep sleeper. Our 4yo usually goes to bed when we do, but I love it when he comes and crawls in bed w/ us and says he just wants to snuggle for a minute. Then when he leaves, he says "I love you" about 100 times as he opens and closes our door. So cute!!

Every night before I go to sleep myself =)
I always go into her room to check on her and to tuck her back in and open her door for the night and I want to either crawl in with her (I cant do that its a toddler bed and I think the whole bed would come crashing apart) or scoop her up and bring her to my bed.
Sometimes I will ask her if I can squeeze her hard enough to put her back in my tummy. Shes only 17 months so she just wiggles away but swear I just want to eat her up shes so sweet.
LOL (shes napping right now and I just want to go get her)

I have and I do. They usually fall right back asleep, so I say go for it! BTW - mine are 5&6 so that might make a difference as far as them falling back asleep.

TOTALLY!!!! Sometimes I want to do it just to be lovey, and sometimes I want to do it because I was a little too hurried at bedtime because of all the chores that need to be done before the baby wakes up, etc...but I totally get that. Take that feeling to bed and have a wonderful morning with your little ones!! :)

Oh heck no I don't! I went through months of sleepless nights so when I go peek in on them I smile at how angelic and peaceful they look...and then remind myself that if I wake them up it could wreck their sleep for the night and then they'll be hellions the next day.

Awww... I wanted to do that too. And even though my kids are older, I still want to sometimes. My daughter is graduating this year and while I am so proud of he,r sometimes I just want to scream, "Slow down, Time! I'm not ready for this yet! Can we please go back?"
Love on that precious baby as much as you can.

Mine is 14 now and I still go in a watch him sleep every once in awhile.
He such a typical angst filled teen, that I need to see him peaceful sometimes.
Oh, geesh, I hope he never knows that - he will think I am crazy. LOL
Good thing he is a heavy sleeper.

Oh yes, all the time. I've gone in after they're asleep before, to give them one last hug...happens a lot when I've been reading a book where something bad happens to a child, or seen a disturbing news report about children. Sometimes I hold off on going in but I usually give in to temptation.

There is nothing like having your little one sleeping and pick them up just to cuddle and whisper to her. You can sit beside her bed and sing to her or just talk softly. Especially if this is your first little one, you want to hold them and never let go. This soon will pass. Remember your little one is growing during sleep hrs. There is no harm though in being in the room, holding their little hand and talking or singing a lullabye to them. This is something that even though you think they cant' hear, they do. Your little one knows just by your touch how very deeply you love them. Take care and enjoy them when they are tiny, they do grow quite fast. Your a Wonderful Mom full of love and happiness, and your little one can sense it all.

My daughter just turned three and yes, I often have that feeling. She looks so sweet and angelic that you just want to kiss and hug on them. Of course, I never do either and when she eventually wakes up she drives me batty as usual.
Now that she's bigger I really miss when she was a baby and I would just hold her and watch her sleep. These are the moments that take your breath away - ENJOY!!
