Does Anyone Know Anything About Chocolate Fountains?

I have a chocolate fountain that I use a couple of times a month. I'm wasting chocolate with what all is left over. Can you freeze the chocolate? I wonder if that is safe to do or if it would even work. How sanitary is that? Any ideas or suggestions. I am trying to think of ways to save $ because I lose some every time I throw that chocolate away. I use the bare minimum of chocolate, but sometimes I just have a ton left over.

Thanks!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks to you all for your response. You basically said what I already thought, which is why I've been throwing it away. I just wanted to double check.

Um, if it was me I would just eat it all til it was gone!:) but thats just me. No ideas. I would think that because it is exposed to the air, it wouldnt be safe to refreeze but idk?

Since the chocolate has been dipped in, if you freeze it, bacteria will grow and spread.

Also, by freezing it, the moisture can cause the chocolate to become gritty and stiff.

I have only used my chocolate fountain a few times but I know what you mean, it's hard to see it all go to waste. You are probably already doing this, but I buy my chocolate at Sam's. I buy the big bags of baking chips, either Ghirardelli if they have it, if not the Nestle's are ok, but not near as rich.

As far as I know it is perfectly fine to freeze it...
