Read the directions. I've heard that it needs to be runny and not thick. Good luck.
Hi friends
I got this fondue fountain ( nostalgia brand) to use for my kids birthday party.... I am not sure How to make the chocolate for the fountain ? I want to do a trial before the big day but I see many different suggestions online....are there any ready made ones I can use like fudge sauce in jar ? Or the usual chocolate chips & oil ( just nervous if I don't get the right consistency )
Please advice

You have the directions, yes? They usually come with several ideas and recipes for use.
I haven't used a fountain - but I have done fondue....chocolate chips, heavy whipping cream...mix well in a sauce pan (believe the fountain does NOT "cook" it for you) and put in the fountain...here's a recipe I found.

I personally would NOT use fudge sauce - it's much thicker than fondue and might not work. Read the directions and check out the website for the brand Nostalgia...they will give you tips and pointers.

I have used chocolate fountains on many occasions for different venues. I do lots of hospitality gigs and parties just for fun. There should be a user's manual with your fountain. If you can't find yours then you can often google your brand and model and find the manual.
I prefer to use the chocolate disks. They can be purchased at Wal Mart and Target...and other places as well. There are directions on the bag. I always add a bit more oil in my chocolate so it continues to filter through easily and is silky smooth.
Happy dipping!!!
(Just a couple helpful hints. Pound cake, cookies, brownies and other crumbly items will clog up the filter more than your more firm items. I like marshmallows, strawberries, maraschino cherries, madeleine cookies...and much more but that is what comes to mine right now)
They can get clogged and very messy/broken even so be careful with just trying anything. I bet the instruction book has recipes in it. They'd be the safest ones for you to try out.
