Believe it or not Vitamin C is supposed to be good for combating the problem of bruising. I tried it years ago and it certainly helped me. At this time of year it wouldn't be a bad idea for a number of reasons!!!
I have been getting a lot of buises after having my second child (she is 5 months old) even though I'm not running into things any more often than usual. I was wondering if anyone else has gone through this and if they have found anything that helps. It looks like I've found a new hobby of ultimate fighting :)

I have the same problem. I have continued taking my prenatal vitamins, and upped my iron intake, but refuse to wear shorts or short sleeves most of the time because I look like a battered woman. Yikes. I will watch your answers and hope I can benefit from your question.
Low Vitamin C and low iron are the common causes of bruising.
You should have your iron levels checked. I've been pretty iron deficient most of my adult life and that's one of the tell tale signs, you bruise easily. Good luck.
As a Health professional my first suggestion is to visit your Doctor to rule out any blood disordera process that may be in progression after giving birth of your second child. Bruising of any type is not usual at any point of life, only if you are on some types of medications and possible because of being elderly. Please make an appointment for complete blood work and physical by your Doctor. Get better.

That could be a sign that your iron level is low. Easily checked by a prick of the finger. If you are on WIC, you might be able to have the WIC office check it for you (free). Or call your DR and set up an appt.
Good luck

Could be low on iron, call doc and get some blood work done.
Don't just let it go too long and wait and see. Many times it's just some vitamin you need to take.

You should find out if you are anemic (low red blood cell count). I was anemic after my first child and had blood work done because of being tired and eady bruising, to then find out I was anemic. It's a simple test and can be fixed with an iron supplement. Good Luck!
Hi B.,
I agree you should continue on a prenatal vitamin. The key here is make sure the vitamin is absorbing. Most vitamins absorb very little. There are different absorption processes and you should look into what type yours is. Most vitamins that doctors prescribe don't absorb well. Doctors are at the mercy of their pharmaceutical reps. If you want information on what absorbs best let me know and I can get you some info.
The reason I said all that is that if your vitamin is working properly then you probably don't need any extra of anything. Once you get to a healthy baseline, then the diagnosis is much more accurate.
God bless!

Add more iron into your diet.
Low iron can be the culprit for easy bruising.
I have them everywhere and have no idea where I get um.
And no I don't take my own advice because I'm to lazy to remember to take my vitamins lol!
My first thought is anemia. I'd mention it to the OB or even your regular doctor.
